Yes, fast-and-light can be this comfy.

We tried to think of really lightweight objects that we could compare the Arc'teryx Solita Short to, but then we realized that lightweight objects actually aspire to be as light as the Solita Short. It really sets a standard. At a scant 3.2 ounces (102 grams), this short still boasts supremely comfortable articulated construction. Its Altavela stretch fabric wicks and dries in a snap, and its flatlock seams eliminate chafing or rubbing. A gusseted crotch maximizes your freedom of movement, and a wide, smooth waistband won't dig into your stomach. An integrated moisture-wicking brief lets you go undies-free (who wants extra bunched-up layers?), and a small zippered hip pocket stows your car key.

Best running short by far

Arc'teryx is an amazing company that makes quality activewear. These shorts are lightweight, streamline, and flattering. Oh and they're comfortable. I am 5'4" approx 118lbs and the small fit me well. I tend to run between sizes in most outdoor brands. I usually wear a 2 or 26 in bottoms. I did try the XS and they were super short and you could see visible lines from the brief. The small is still a flattering length on me. These will probably be my go to workout short from now on. The price runs a bit high, but I think it's worth it.

Arc'teryx Solita Short- my new fave running short

Yep, I said it. I'm not afraid. I'm one of "those" that has always ran in the same old school nike short for lack of other options. This short is ideal for long distance runs because the waistband is so darn comfortable. I really hate all of those cinched waistbands that are uncomfortable and so unflattering. The Solita couldn't be any further from that- the waistband is uber comfortable and since it is super lightweight it doesn't get bogged down with sweat.
And also, I don't typically wear shorter shorts to run in for fear of them riding up but this has never been an issue with these. Sometimes it's hard to justify spending this amount of $ on a workout short but I seriously wear it at least once a week- it is well worth it!!
