Description

More than a mere windbreaker.

When you plan to climb a 12,000-foot peak or intend to spend a day climbing in White Rock, NM, bring along the Arc’teryx Women’s Solano Jacket. The Solano features WindStopper material to block chilly gusts and light precip, while polyester lining wicks perspiration and provides a touch of insulation. Nylon lining in the sleeves makes sliding this jacket over layers a cinch. Arc’teryx added articulated sleeves and underarm gussets to the contoured-fit Solano, so you can move as needed on the trail or rock face—in fact, you might feel as though Arc’teryx custom-made this jacket for you.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was under the impression this was a 3 season jacket that would be able to be worn on it's own for adequate warmth- totally wrong. I live in Chicago and wore it on a mid 40 degree, lightly windy day near the lake with a long sleeve tshirt under: the wind ripped right through me, and I didn't feel the Windstopper at all. If you're looking for a very light weight jacket that's cute, this is lovely. Unless you're planning on wearing more layers or another coat on top of this, I wouldn't recommend it for cooler temps.

I was excited about this jacket when I received it. It's a nice Gore Windstopper jacket, with a light lining inside--just what I wanted. The jacket fit great, except for the sleeves. They were too short. Kind of weird, because I have several other Arcteryx jackets, and the sleeve length is correct. Not sure if I just got a defective one or not. I considered going up a size, but then I'm quite sure the rest of the jacket would be too big. I may look at the Viseo instead, although it is not lined and is lighter weight.

Not really worth the price. It's a great little wind breaker, but it's so pricey. It has a thin lining and is flattering on, but there's nothing too special about it. It goes good under a warmer jacket because it's thin. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it.I took some photos in this jacket, and the little lizard type design on the front reflected in the picture almost ruining the photo. I don't really recommend it unless it goes on sale for $40 or so. It's just not that great.
