The Arc'teryx Women's Sigma AR Jacket is a four-season softshell designed for ultimate adaptability in alpine environments. There's nothing like experiencing the breathability and freedom of movement inherent to this versatile jacket. Arc'teryx created the first softshell garments and still leads the way with enlightened designs and advanced construction. For cold, dry climates, wear the Sigma AR as a weather protecting outer layer; when the weather turns wet and very cold, the Sigma AR is an incredible heat-retaining midlayer. Added touches include a hem drawcord, one internal chest pocket, and Underarm zips. A soft brushed lined collar keeps your chin from chafing, and two hand pockets keep your mitts toasty warm. Legendary Arc'teryx details, from molded Zipper Garages, to a durable and water resistant finish, insure that the Sigma AR Jacket is ready for inbounds skiing or backcountry boarding. *Available for US shipment only.

Bottom Line: The Sigma AR Jacket can shift gears from weather resistant shell to warm midlayer to keep you driving through the snow.

What I use it for: riding the motorcycle, backcountry hiking, and skiing. I'm testing this thing for sure. I live the in NC mountains.
Plus side: exterior is aesthetically perfect. Zippers are still in tact. Wind resistance has not reduced AT ALL, despite about 5-8 washes.
Negative side: The interior is not good. I have a dog (a pit with short hair) and the hairs are embedded in the lining. It has pilled a lot, which is almost good for wind resistance but no longer soft sans base layer. And the pit zips are annoying. I am small framed and I can never seem to get them in a position that they don't rub. And, really given the wind resistant nature of this jacket, I wonder why they're present in the first place - it's not a summertime item.
I'd like to add that I am a 34DD and the small fits like a glove. Every one's bodies are different and I advise looking hard at the size chart. But for sure, it's cut for a little person.

awesome jacket!

I have been eyeing this jacket for quite a while and finally got it. It's everything I hoped for and more. It's definitely warmer than my other softshell I own.

If you're expecting this to be good for standalone winter wear you're wrong. I wear it daily by itself for short distance walking or taking the bus but if you're standing outside for an extended period of time and it's about 40 degrees, you're going to be cold.

My boyfriend has the mens version and wears it under a shell to ski in and loves it too!

This jacket is not D-cup friendly. Nice jacket, but once again - too small to accommodate D-cup. Returned right away.

Awesome

I love this jacket. As far as a softshell goes, this is one of the best. Perfect for in and outbounds skiing or hiking as well. I get super cold in the winter when I ski, so this is the perfect midlayer for me to keep warm. It also serves a great purpose for wearing with just a lightweight layer for warmer conditions. The pit zips are also key...open 'em when it gets warm, then close 'em up on the way down when it's cold. Also looks really nice for going out on the town!
