The Arc'teryx RT45 Backpack is for those who like to get out and stay out. You know who you are, any day of the year will find you climbing, hiking, or touring in the mountains. Home is just the place that you go to for some sleep. With a weatherproof closure and WaterTight zipper, the RT35 will block rain and snow from your gear. Superb stability is the result of a semi-rigid framesheet and aluminum stays that work with the air channel back for a comfortable ride. Fully adjustable shoulder straps and hipbelt bring the load close to your body, allowing you to make dynamic moves without losing your balance. The RT45 is built with Arc'teryx's legendary attention to detail, and innovative construction techniques to ensure that you and your gear arrive in one piece. *Available for US shipment only.

RT 45

This pack is great! My previous pack was the Mountainsmith Auspex. This pack is as good or better. The load I carry is 33lbs. and when you put it on your back and adjust it to fit, it sticks like glue while on the trail, and is very comfortable. I found the pack to be very roomy for what I carry, (winter backpacking in Central Texas) and the extra pocket roomy enough for rain gear. The only problem I had with the pack was the side water bottle pockets weren't big enough for a 1 liter bottle. It doesn't matter though, because you have the hydration sleeve inside. Everything considered a very good pack. Lifetime warranty too.

Gorgeous pack; needs more pouches

Excellent pack; great space; could use more zippered openings on outside, and side pockets not deep enough to hold, say, a Nalgene bottle. Overall, a good pick with solid support.

Arc'teryx RT 45

Excellent backpack. I own the RT35 and 45 and have found the 35 is not big enough for multi-night trips. The 45 can get me out for 3-4 nights with its extra carrying space (the difference is really in the ability to carry additional food and fuel). Unlike most 45+ liter packs, this pack functions well as a daypack, as it is relatively lightweight and does not have a massive frame. The 45 is good for loads up to 40lb.

The top of the backpack is designed to carry climbing rope, but this function works well for carrying gear like a pad or tent, thus the pack can really handle about 55 liters of gear. The pack cleans easily if you spray it down with water after trips.

If you are struggling between the 35 and 45, go with the 45. For small loads the difference is almost unnoticeable, but the 45 takes better care of you for large loads.
