This is a great first layer, its ultra thin so its good for warm ski days, or sunny days backpacking where you need a long sleeve but don't want to get too hot. It dries quickly too.
I recently took this shirt backpacking and wore it as my only top layer on a sunny but windy day. What surprised me the most is that when our trail became extremely overgrown and I was having to push my way through tall scrub and branches, the rho sl never snagged. After bushwhacking for quite some time the rho sl came out looking like new.

It barely weighs anything and feels good against the skin. Perfect for colder hikes, or warmer ski days. Love the versatility of this shirt.

I love this shirt. I wear it on every outing from the summer trip in Utah's desert Green River, skiing/ snowboarding, backpacking whenever wherever, around home, to work etc. Every experience that insta-warmth upon putting on a realy nice piece of clothing? Yeah it's got that. It dries quickly, fits in my mug backpacking, and doesn't stink after it's washed!

Layering without too many zip necks

Great layering without the bulk of too many zip ups. My husband specifically requested this for the crew neck. He layers with a zip-up neck on top so he was tired of the zip-up neck on his first layer, it was too crowded around the neck. It’s great for snow sports and all-around great service from this website.

More than comfortable - able to handle hot and cold climates. Great first layer...feels wonderful against skin. Even if you're just thinking of buying this shirt, get it...you won't be sorry!
