What you'll hear from Arc'teryx enthusiasts is, it's construction and material make it so worth the price. What you'll hear from someone who has used this, capilene, merino wool, etc. is, nah...just another baselayer, dude. But you'll look really cool in it because it has the dead bird logo right between your tits.

the foundation layer, base for everything else. Its light, long in the arms and body, comfortable. Its easy to wash when grundy, quick to dry. I'm 6'-3" and 225# - size xl fits nicely. Get one, you won't regret it. I have three and wouldn't be without one.

These do let go of the stink. However, like any poly shirt, they will get stinky after you wear it for a while. the thing that makes this shirt impressive is it's light weight, that will hold up much better than any other "silk weight" shirt due to it's tight weave.

The Rho SL is light weight, comfortable, looks good and wicks great. No odor after 3 consecutive days of spring skiing. What more could you want in a base layer! Size runs a bit small, I'm 5'10, 165# and a large fits a little loose which is just right for me. Medium would be too tight to wear in public.
Backcountry.com was great, I got it on sale and the free shipping arrived in CA in 2 days.
