Start your layering from the legs up with the Women's Arc'teryx Rho LT Bottom. Made from hardworking Powerflex material, these form-fitting bottoms layer well under hiking pants or ski bibs. The lightweight fibers stretch to fit a lady’s shape, retaining that shape over time. Arc’teryx designed the Rho to move moisture away from your skin and dry quickly, even including a stench-fighting silver ion in the garment’s fabric so you can wear it longer between washes. Choose the ¾ length version for a better fit with mountaineering, ski or snowboard boots.
I have had a pair of these longs for four years and they are still my favorite pair. They don't ich, the don't rub in my ski boots, and they don't stink. They are awesome!
I've been able to use my Arc'teryx Rho LT bottoms about 5 times now for downhill skiing, and I love them. (I also purchased the Arc'teryx Rho LT Zip Neck Top and it is fantastic as well.) They are light and comfortable, and I have yet to be cold in them. I wear the bottoms directly under my ski pants without any other layers and have never been so comfortable skiing. No bulk -- but warm. (I ski in UT and CO.) I have found that they are fitted as I would expect in long underwear, but true to size.
Aside from being this year's lamest chick shade (i mean if your going for shades of pink and red, for practicality sake, at least make it dark red). These pants really do rock. I have a really hard time finding bottoms that fit my bottom, but I couldn't stop looking in the mirror at myself in these. o yeah, and they are super functional/durable/wear well under shell pants/and don't ride up too.

it kept me warm on the slopes and didn't feel itchy or tight, didn't ride up. it's little bit tight on the waist, but that might be because I do have a bit of extra waist - I'm 5'6", 140 and got M
These thermals made me nervous because they were supposed to come up quite high in the waist...not to mention they were tight. I am about 5' and 92 lbs., so I'm very petite. I bought the XS to see how it would work, since I'm an XS in all Arc'teryx gear. Upon receipt, I realized they were not tight at all, but quite loose-fitting all over (including waist, thighs, and calves). They did come high in the waist, but not bad. They were about 2" too long for my small frame, but not too bad. Also, to my surprise, they were slightly thicker than I first thought. They are quite thin, but they have a slight fuzzy layer on the inside, which makes it soft and a little thicker than I originally thought.
I've been layering with these when I bike to class and work. They've done a good job keeping me warm in 10 degree weather, and the form fit--while a little itchy at the end of the day--is doesn't bulk up in spots under your pants. The waist band IS wide, but it hasn't bugged me.
I love emepoo's review :) I have the black ones and they are great! I'm always cold so I like lighter layer and these worked out so well that I ended up buying a second pair. They fit great, even under my jeans. However, they are higher waisted than the low rise jeans but I don't care because if I'm wearing these then I am cold so I'm tucking in a shirt!
I am cold all the time so I wear these under my jeans when it gets cold. They work great for layering because they aren't bulky. They have a higher waist than the current low-cut jeans but my shirts cover them so I don't care and this way no cold air sneaks in. At 5'7 128 the mediums are what I wear. Not too tight; not too loose on me. No itch. I also like these for under my insulated coveralls. Pretty darn perfect!
I really like these pants! I've worn them as a base layer from x-country skiing, under my jeans on super cold days, and as climbing pants. They've worked great for all the above. They are very comfortable and provide all the warmth of wool without the itch.
These are my favorite base layer pants. They are soft, stretchy, warm, and breathable. They don't bunch up anywhere like some other brands. They are loose enough so as not to hinder movement while remaining close to the skin. I've worn them dozens of times and they have not lost their shape or pilled.
I have had a pair of these longs for four years and they are still my favorite pair. They don't ich, the don't rub in my ski boots, and they don't more...
