Great Hiking Pants With a Nice Cut

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Purchased: 34

Great cut + nice details, pockets, etc. The fabric has a great hand but it tends to be 'hot' in Summer. Definitely a nice and versatile pair of pants to hike or dress comfortably when you travel. It kind of runs small (and may shrink) so I picked one size up and fitting is great.

A bit bulky and long

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 11"
    Weight: 185 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

I was surprised that the inseam was at least 1.5 to 2 inches longer than what it says. Usually Arcteryx is very good about this stuff. I had to get them taylored to fit properly. The waist fits my 36 inch gut perfectly, though. These are rather baggy as well, but I expected that. They are a good pant for casual activities and outdoor adventures. Very comfortable after getting the length adjusted.

good summer pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 1"
    Weight: 220 lbs
    Size Purchased: 36

Im curious as to how theyll hold up over the long haul. Im used to the Kuhl Rydr pants that wear like armor, but make you sweat terribly. So, gave these a go. Much lighter weight and seem to breathe very well. Did 14 miles of trail through some pretty thorny areas and they came out without any rips, snags or tears. Fit is good. I'm 6'1" and the inseam is just fine on the 36s. Little baggy at the bottom for the length... but, Im okay with that. When kicking back at the end of the day, they dont go high water on you when you sit and cross your legs. So, no mosquitos flying up your pant legs.

What is the inseam length in a 30" waist?

These have a 32" inseam on the 30" waist size.

would be nice if had inseam choice

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 190 lbs
    Size Purchased: 34

The pants looked nice and had a nice lightweight material. However their is not an inseam choice and thus the 34 waist size for me was way too long (and I am 6'0" in height). They were also a bit more baggy than I wanted.

Arc'teryx Renegade Pant

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 2"
    Weight: 200 lbs
    Size Purchased: 36

The lightweight and durable material of this pant make it perfect in transition from the trail to the town. The relaxed cut and gusseted crotch allow good transitional movement up a cliff face and out of car seats as well. At 6'2 the inseam on a size 36 is perfect. The only (minimal) con I will offer, is my particular pants did have mineral stains after a heavy rain , but were remedied by adding some vinegar to my washing machine. Here's to hoping that in the future Arc'teryx offers this pant in different colors.
