Light and tough protection for vertical missions.
Sunny mornings in the alpine can become stormy afternoons before you can tell your partner, "I think we're gonna be OK!", so moving slowly and casually isn't an option, even when the weather's nice. That's why Arc'teryx designed the Psiphon FL Men's Hooded Softshell Jacket to be featherlight, highly mobile, and wildly versatile. It's made primarily from TerraTex, a breathable, weather-resistant, and slightly stretchy softshell, and outfitted with tough Fortius 1.0 reinforcements on the sleeves and shoulders, so techy cruxes and squeeze chimneys don't shred your shell.
The Psiphon is trim, but still slides easily over a warm midlayer, and it has gusseted underarms that let you reach overhead without exposing any skin. Arc'teryx integrated a helmet-compatible hood that snaps back to stay out of the way when it's windy, included hand and chest pockets, and topped the Psiphon off with removable HemLock inserts that keep your jacket from sliding around when you're wearing it under a harness.
