Does what it's supposed to!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

    Size Purchased: Medium

Even on the warmest nights, if I'm in the mountains, I'm cold sitting by the fire or around camp. I was looking for a base layer to keep me warm but didn't weigh too much in my pack. I chose this one despite them being a bit pricey, I kind of like the way their cut their measurements for a more curvy body shape.
Finally got to try them out this past weekend. They kept my legs nice and warm, but not too warm while sitting around the campfire until late at night. They were also comfortable to sleep in. Only things is the waist is a bit low.

Functional base layer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

These work well as a base layer for skiing and other winter activities, they fit well and allow unrestricted movement. The only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars is that Arc'teryx used to make a base layer that was heavier than this and had a very soft inner layer directly against the skin. I loved those bottoms as I find that no matter what I layer my thighs are always cold, those were the only bottoms that kept my thighs warm. These are not the same and I wish the heavier base layer was still available. I found something very similar to their older style from Athleta and Burton but still kept these for milder winter days. Fit was as expected, medium worked well, 5'7" and 145#.

Skiing, Climbing, Hiking and more

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are a great all around layer under snow pants or soft shells. Haven't tried them solo on a run yet but plan to put them to that test. Flexible but stay put where they should. Warmer than you'd expect given the light weight.

Winter Wonder!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

All around awesome pant for layering up. Slimming and snug fit, warm and perfect for layering under a ski and snowboard pants w/ out insulation! They're nicely articulated in construction, but not much stretch to them, work for running, but not awesome. Wash up nicely too.
