Description

Move fast, stay cool (and warm), and be dry.

To get the perfect mix of sun and soft snow, you have to move quickly in the cold dawn, and the lightweight Arc'teryx Phase SL Zip Neck Top helps you do it comfortably. Equipped with Arc'teryx's lightest fabric (Phasic SL), this baselayer makes sure your body stays insulated from the cold and can also breathe and stay dry while you skin up the trail.
  • With a next-to-skin fit, this baselayer top dries quickly, breathes, and wicks your sweat for exceptional cold-weather performance
  • Silver ions encapsulated into the fabric inhibit the growth of odor-causing microbes
  • Mechanical stretch, gusseted underarms, and an anatomical shape allow great mobility if you decide to go ice climbing or mountaineering
  • The zip neck provides a bit of venting and easy on-off
  • The UPF 50 fabric blocks the harsh alpine sun so you don't have to lather up the sunscreen all over your body

Light & Dry

Wore this during 3 hours of canoe paddling and beach hiking, a 4 hour bike ride with 2 category 2 climbs, as well as general shenanigans. Of all the shirts I've worn, this has the best ability to keep me dry. The canoe paddle was in the sun with just this top on, breeze was on and off. During consistent medium output paddling I was dry the whole time. During the cycling, which included 2 hills of 4km up then 4km down (cabot trail in Nova Scotia) i.e. max output on the way up followed by 60km/hr (speed+headwind) of wind on the way down this top helped regulate temperature and sweatiness under a superlight shell.

Extremely impressive performance, and great fit too. 6' tall, 170lbs, slightly tight under the armpits but generally excellent.

One of my favorites

picked up one of these for the slightly cooler weather runs. This thing is perfect, the zip really gives it an excellent range of function over just a regular long sleeve. I wear it for the 40-50s and it keeps me perfect temp.

A second skin

This is perfection for me. World class; lightness, breath-ability, moisture transport and has the least tendency to pick up odor of any garment I have worn.

With an ultra light cotton undershirt this makes a very warm combo for light output activity. Fabric is not windproof, so I use Celeris as a breaker with this for running.

Fabric stays new looking for years. Surface is nice and even and soft even after years of usage.

Only criticism is that it could have been tighter on the neck. Maybe my neck is slim or Arc'teryx was afraid to choke their customers with a tighter fit.

Do not hang this shirt wet on a hook. One of my shirts have a permanent depression/extrusion that does not go away when washed. I have not taken an iron to this.
