Whether you're using it as a layering piece for ski touring or as your go-to top for climbing and training, Arc'teryx designed the Motus Short-Sleeve Crew for performance-minded athletes. This short-sleeve shirt uses quick-drying Phasic SL fabric that is geared to interval activities when you go back and forth between pushing hard and cooling down so sweat is wicked and evaporates quickly while the hydrophobic fibers that sit next to your skin stay dry.

  • Phasic SL fabric blends wicking and hydrophobic fibers to pull moisture away from your skin so it can evaporate while giving you a dry feel next to your skin
  • Encapsulated silver ions inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria so this shirt won't build up a funk if you miss a laundry day
  • UPF 25 shields you from the sun's not-so-good effects
  • Flatlock seams reduce friction to prevent chafing
  • Reflective accents make you easier to spot when you're on the road after dark or before dawn

My experience is different than the others on this site. I've purchased similar but a lot cheaper shirts from North Face and other companies and decided to buy Arc's even it's very expensive. I have worn this shirt on 5hr bike rides, weekly spin class, strenuous day hikes and overnight backpacking trips this spring. The material is extremely light and extremely thin, it almost weighs half as much as the North Face performance shirt, this has two problems: it's not warm enough and when you sweat a lot (biking, hiking, etc.), the shirt gets soaked very quickly and it remains very wet on your body, I actually had a fever after one long hike because I got very cold. Again this is my experience and I stay honest to my words.

A follow up: another thing is this shirt is designed a very tight fit with your body, it's comfortable when it's dry, but when you are sweating the material does not dry fast so you are wet and uncomfortable.

This is the most comfortable tee out there. Next to this, under armour feels like a hair shirt. If they made this in white (so it would look okay under a dress shirt) I would wear one every day. Or I could just go with what they have and quit my job :-)

This shirt is awesome! Get it you'll enjoy it. I have the sleeveless, this one, and the long sleeve. Get em all, they're the best. I could rant and rave for hours but I'm gonna go mountain bike instead...of course wearing this shirt.

Phasic SL fabric is what you want to wear when your heart rate is booming and the sweat is pouring. This piece is awesome for all high output warm weather activities. Great against skin with little to no seam irritation. Sizing is similar to other athletic fitting running shirts, meaning it fits close to the skin and I would recommend going larger than smaller. I am a fan.
