Description

Time to get serious.

Use the Arc'teryx Men's Motus Crew Short-Sleeve as an edge over the racing competition or just to shorten your time up the trail: it can be your little secret. Quick-drying Phasic SL fabric wicks moisture away from your body to evaporate quickly while hydrophobic fibers next to the skin prevent you from feeling clammy when you're cooling down. It stretches, breathes, and keeps form after many uses, and touch of sun protection gives you the confidence to stay out just a little longer without worrying about skin damage from harmful UV rays. This layering piece is great for touring or cold-weather climbing when altering between high-output aerobic activity and sitting still.

  • Phasic SL construction
  • Moisture-wicking and lightweight
  • Trim fit
  • Sun protection
  • Flatlocked seams

Perfect athletic shirt

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 170 lbs
    Size Purchased: Medium

I love these shirts and have several -- it's one of those pieces that I am always turning to, and I am lucky to have picked up several of them (six or so) in the past few years. I use them for any athletic activity: running, trail running, hiking, as a loose baselayer, lifting, and even for a trail ultra-marathon. The cut is trim but not tight anywhere. The fabric wicks well and dries quickly. I like that it never chafes any sensitive chest areas. Only complaint: the reflective stripes and logo do wear off a little (not completely!) after many washings. This is my favorite Arc'Teryx t-shirt and fabric: it's kind of like one of those perfect soft-cotton shirts, except it's synthetic.

Love this brand and never regret buying from them. The shirt is very light and fit my boyfriend perfectly. It is his favorite shirt for long treks.

Ideal Shirt

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 210 lbs
    Size Purchased: L

Way over priced but obtained on a promotion. This is so worth it as I never felt comfort like this. Great mix of materials. Its hard to wrong with Arcteryx. It's rather funny with short sleeve, I go to L and long sleeve in an XL. Anyway, whats important is sleeves and tail perfect length. Many other makers short change the sleeve....not Arcteryx. Its worth every penny as street shirt or hiking. Drys quickly and wears well.

Is this material odor resistant? Like Merino Wool?
It has 30% polypropylene, which harbors odors like a low tide.

its pretty odor resistant actually I wear these shirts on a day to day basis I'd say about a couple days and you'll start stinking not going to be as odor resistant as merino wool but far superior in my opinion

Feels like heaven

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 210 lbs
    Size Purchased: XL

I have XL in Phase long sleeve crew's but the Motus or Phase short sleeve's fit better with a large. 6' 210 46 chest. You really want skin fit to feel the warmth when its cold and cool when it warms up. Sleeves and tail are perfect length. You can't go wrong with Arc'teryx once sized correctly. Need a few more color choices.

Some photos make it appear bright blue like Arcteryxs model photos of the long sleeve version and other images make it look dark - is the Borneo blue shirt more dark or bright?

Responded on

I feel its move dark. Having looked at several in a store, the colors appear to be more of a earth tone color but rich in color if that can even explain it. I have Phase SL crew in Borneo Blue. Beautiful color

Arc'teryx Got It Right

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is the lightest, best-fitting, most comfortable shirt I own. I forget that I'm wearing a shirt at all, except moisture is quickly moved away from my skin...so it's even better than not wearing a shirt! While it wasn't initially a selling point for me, I also like the appearance "off trail". Arc'teryx has earned a loyal customer in me.

Lightest running t-shirt ever

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 11"
    Weight: 225 lbs
    Size Purchased: xl

I sweat and chafe a lot. This t shirt is as light as it can be, and it wicks sweat fast. The whole shirt gets wet, and it dries very fast also.

Quality Exercise Shirt

  • Fit: True to size

I bought this shirt for my father in the Iron Anvil color. He absolutely loves it. Wears it as a base layer for skiing as well as for running and biking. It is very breathable and comfortable and fits very true to size. He would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Responded on

Motus has a slightly greener shade in riptide (due to black polypropylene threads). Accelerator is brighter blue

Best for hot weather excercise

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I live in Austin, TX...and it gets HOT here, and very humid, which means when I was training for a marathon last summer, I was sweating a ton, even when running early in the morning. After trying many different brands of these kinds of shirts, this one not only performs the best, but looks the best on me, too.

For one, unlike other tech shirts, the seams do not bother or irritate me in any way, I don't even notice them, even on longer runs. Secondly, it really does wick the moisture away and dries out quicker than other shirts, so after lots of hard running, it was ALWAYS drier than the other shirts I used.

One thing I did notice, was that it does seem to run a little big...I usually fit into a medium(39" chest.), but a small in this actually does fit me without being super-skin-tight.. I actually have a small and a medium and either one works for me.

It's just unfortunate that it's $65, especially for something that is seemingly a simple product, but for me, it was worth every dollar. Just bought 2 more of these for this summer.

So, if it gets hot where you are, and/or you plan on sweating a lot with a shirt on, this one's the way to go.

Pricey but outstanding in performance

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

These are the the best shirts for hot weather exercise, great wicking and it does pull the water from your skin so it feels less clammy. Dries quickly as well and does not harbor stink. I use them for biking in the summer and am very happy. Shame about the price but it is a great shirt.

Amazing shirt

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Yes, it is a $65 T shirt. But for hot weather, i have never worn anything so cool and comfortable. i wear hiking, yoga or just to work when it gets really warm. They only have a little give, and it is a 'Trim fit'. so if you like loose, you may want to up size.
They are very thin and light, scary so, but i have not torn one yet. Have 2.

Sweet Shirt

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I'm 6'4 195 and the Large fits tailored. Great shirt in the heat, doing anything active, and around town looks cool too. Comfortable shirt that seems as though you are wearing nothing.
A heftier size price tag but comes with a guarantee you will love it lots!
