One woman's midlayer is another woman's outerwear, and regardless of where it's worn, everyone loves a hoodie.

One woman's midlayer is another woman's outerwear. The Arc'teryx Women's Maeven Fleece Hooded Jacket is just that: for the alpine adventurist, this sleek fleece hoodie slips under hardshells and down jackets when you're facing arctic air, and urban explorers grab this low-profile jacket to wear as a top layer when sliding amongst the shadows and ducking in and out of buildings in search of the ultimate croissant. The streamlined hood stays close to your head without squeezing your brains, and has enough room to accommodate the lovely new toque your great aunt Mathilda just made.
Four-way stretch fabric lets you reach for the stars without ripping your coat. Polartec Hardface technology give this hoodie a toughness most mafia-types want. Not only does the jacket resist water, twig picks, and abrasions, the face stays smooth so you can layer without issue. Elastic binding at the cuffs and hem prevent you from being a sail in the wind and cold air from sneaking in where it doesn't belong. Large hand pockets hold essentials, whether you're in town or hot on the trail of the Yeti.

    Very warm

Surprisingly warm, soft, and lightweight. Purchased to wear under waterproof shell for travel. Definitely an upgrade from my old fleece jackets! Seems worth the extra money. Basic, easy to style, and more utilitarian. It's the uber hoody!

      perfect midlayer/spring skiing hoodie

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

Love my Maeven! I picked this hoodie up before heading to Australia for a spring skiing trip (yep, you can ski in Australia). It definitely fills a void in my closet, which previously contained several midlayers that weren't suitable to wear on their own as outer layers... I ended up wearing this all the time while touring over a base layer, and under my shell on colder/chairlift days. Definitely warm but breathable, and the hood is awesome for trapping heat if needed. I normally wear medium or large in Arc'teryx but I sized all the way up to XL in this one (mostlyyy because it was the last size in the color I wanted) and it worked to my advantage, since I could easily layer under it or wear it over my beacon. Awesome, versatile hoodie!

      Another great Arcteryx product

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I tried many different models of mid-weight fleece jackets this fall and ended up going back to Arcetryx for the quality and fit I wanted. I was looking for a power-stretch fleece to be used as an outer layer in the fall, and mid-layer as our Canadian winters get colder. I need a layer that is light and warm and flexible for my outdoor activities and this jacket just won my heart. A plus for me is the way the neck fits; it is high and you can adjust the snugness easily and the hood does not pull the neck back, like a lot of models do. I am 5'8", 128 lbs, and the medium is a perfect mid-layer fit. Great arm length. This athletically styled hoody is cozy and snug, light enough to wear indoors and warm enough to hit the hiking trails with; plan to LIVE in it this winter!

      Photos don't do justice

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

This is a gorgeous jacket! It's a smooth-faced powerstretch fleece that will quickly become your favorite wear-everywhere layer. Think of it as a techy zip-up hoody. It fits true to size and is built with typical Arc'teryx quality. You'll have this jacket for a long time.

I'm usually an xs in arcteryx products. Would the small be too big? I'm pretty petite. Thank you.

      Hey Tara S!

      Thanks for your question!

Small may be a little larger, but if you're layering under at all, it could work out to your advantage to have this jacket a little larger. If you check out the size chart, located under the colors we have and above the sizes, you can follow that with your own measurements and see how much larger it truly would be on you.
