These are well designed. Put them on with your knee bent. Snug the bottom strap above the calf muscle and tension the top strap so that you can just feel it above the knee, no stretch in the elastic. This works great for hiking, touring and skiing without adjustment. Tested on 1,600 foot vertical hike/climb, 3 mile tour and 3,000 foot descent.

Best pads out there, small, light, and best of all they stay put. You'll forget you're wearing them. Well worth the few extra $

I've tried all the knee pads out there and these are the best. This is the first knee pad that I can tour in without taking off while going uphill. Great protection and maximum articulation for anyone riding on snow from snowboarders, skiers and telemarkers these are a must.
