Put on an Arc'teryx Gamma SV Vest when you need extra warmth and mobility. Nothing adds insulation to your core like a vest. The Gamma SV is made with hardworking Polartec Power Shield with lightweight insulation and a weather shedding face. As with all Arc'teryx outerwear the Gamma SV vest is made with an unreal attention to detail. Signature features like Arc'teryx's Moulded Zipper Garages and an athletic cut set this vest apart from all the others. Wear this one with base-layers during spring tours or under a shell when the weather gets cold. *Available for US shipment only.
Bottom Line: Now you can have your arms free for climbing or skiing without sacrificing warmth.
bought for my wife as a surprise, and she's stoked. the fit maybe slightly big for a medium, maybe. i read other backcountry reviews and others reported size would fit a 41 chest. not so on the medium we/she recieved. 38 chest snug but ok. great style, lightweight, warm, not bulky, easy to layer, wind resistant, well made. worth it. buy one. you won't be disapointed.
I own two Arc'teryx jackets in addition to the vest. The vest is truly worth the money. It insulates very well, is tailored, well designed and simple. Like the jackets, the vest is slightly longer in the back than it is in the front. It hits me at about the mid point of my bottom. I am 5'6", 130 lbs and a C/D cup. I wear a medium. Someone else wrote that they were a similar size and that a small fit them well. I listened to their review, ordered the small and couldn't do the zipper up (it was way too tight) - I had to reorder the vest in a medium. It is not snug and it is not over-sized. It fits perfectly.
I'm a ski instructor in Washington State and also an outerwear junkie. I own numerous Arcteryx items including the Gamma SV jacket which is an amazing softshell, and I've been drooling over the Gamma SV vest for a couple years now. I finally bought one from this site last week, and I'm in awe. It's trim and form-fitting but stretchy, so it moves when you do. It has a pleasing feminine shape that is oh so comfortable. You almost feel like you're not wearing it -- except that it keeps your core warmer than all get-out. It's loose enough so you can wear it over a base layer, but form-fitting enough that you could wear both a midweight fleece and hardshell over it and not feel like the Michelin man. I can't wait to try it out on the snow. And this sites customer service is awesome! They are the most professional outerwear company I have ever dealt with. They have the best selection out there and they ship things fast!

Arcteryx does it againI purchased the women's Gamma SV Vest for a late summer trip in the Cascades. It was the most versatile piece I brought. I wore it under my shell, parka and alone over a base layer. I even slept in it! I get cold easily but stayed toasty, not sweaty, with this vest. It does run a bit large. My chest is 39in and I still had plenty of room for a RHO Shirt and silk weight base layer underneath.
I love this vest - the cut is flattering, though I agree it does run slightly large. I've worn it for colder weather hiking and running - it's also great when the temp is fairly warm but the wind is cold. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces of clothing.
First, I ordered a small vest. A lovely vest with great details. Unfortunately, the company failed to recognize that women can be 'shapely' ~ I couldn't get the zipper zipped! Then, I ordered the medium. Suddenly, I was in a man's large vest! The arm holes were very spacious and the overall fit of the vest was HUGE! Sadly, I was unable to get this beautiful vest to fit properly. I wish Arc'teryx would find some 'real women' to model for their clothing. (Interesting note: a local retailer expressed the same sentiment ~ she told me she has a tough time fitting women in the Arc'teryx clothing she carries.)
This vest looks so good, people always ask me where I got it. It was a bit expensive maybe, but totally worth it. I got it in brown, size M (8-10) and fits just perfect. Im 41 chest, 32 waist and 41 hip. Its wind proof, and great for cross country skiing.
