Ride short
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Fit:True to size
- Size Bought: medium
Just a great short. Too many mtn biking shorts focus on being (fashionably ) baggy. I need a better fitting short that will not get caught up between the crotch of the short and my saddle. I really appreciate the trimmer fit. Hard to find elsewhere.
My Favorite Shorts for Outdoor Adventure
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:True to size
Bought these shorts last summer, and have put them through the ringer; they responded to every challenge, and have been such a favorite that I bought a second pair.
The fabric is phenomenal: light and breathable, but tough - showing no signs of hard wear even after a tough, extended season of use. What's more, they wash easily, shedding grime and stains, and dry quickly hanging up.
The fit is great: fits true to size in the waist, but accommodating an athletic, muscular build without looking or feeling tight.
The belt is an interesting feature: looks gimmicky, but has proven ultra-reliable in use (it's now used by ARX in everything from casual shorts to ski and mountaineering pants).
The ultimate testament to these short's fit and quality: they make the cut list for virtually all of my overseas trips, even/especially when space and weight is a premium.
Highly recommended for hard outdoor use in hot environments, and for travel.
These fit true to size? I wear a 32" waist, 175, 6'1...my gut would be to go with a Medium.
Arcteryx.com has a more elaborate sizing tool which appears to try and give a better answer to what size for what body type. I have your exact same specs, and it told me to go with a Medium.
