When you're hundreds of feet up a wall where protection is marginal, the slightest breeze can turn an enjoyable send into a shivering, teeth-chattering grind. So slide on the Arc'teryx Women's Gamma LT Hooded Softshell Jacket that offers light warmth and wind resistance for your climbing adventures. Burly Double Weave fabric combines the durability of a nylon face with a polyester backer for a strong jacket with four-way stretching capabilities. The fabric has a DWR finish so raindrops ricochet off the jacket, and the athletic fit closely follows the contours of your body so you get movement and minimum bulk.

The Gamma LT features a StormHood that moves with you so you have total visibility while you belay your buddy even while wearing a helmet. Its Vislon front zipper resists water, stretch gusset cuffs seal around your wrists so the sleeves don't creep up, and a hem drawcord keeps any unwanted winds from breezing up your front. One chest pocket can hold your keys so you can warm your hands up in the two front pockets while you relax with your partner on top of the world.

Here's what others have to say...

How water-repellant/water-resistant is this jacket? Would it hold up in rain without an outer shell?

The outer fabric is water resistant and the DWR finish will help it repel a light rain for a while, but for heavy rain or prolonged periods out in the rain I would want a shell over this.
