Description

Softshell pants taken to a whole new level.

The super-tough, ultra-breathable Arc'teryx Men's Gamma AR Pant handles a day of ice climbing, a backpacking trip, or a single-push alpine climb without breaking a sweat. A stretchy, water-resistant blend of nylon, polyester, and spandex combines with a gusseted crotch to allow total freedom of movement and help you get after it on steep ice and mixed climbing. Arc'teryx also added drawstrings to the cuffs to keep snow out of your boots, so you can save weight and leave the gaiters at home.

The short inseam for Arc'teryx 36 in. pants (large) is 29.1 inches, but, apparently there are no short sizes available for this product right now. I have the opposite problem of finding long sizes.

How is the fit on these? I'm 6'3" with a 35-36" waist and 34" inseam. Should I go with Large or XL?

Sounds like an XL would fit you best.I would look for a Tall Large.

I would have to agree with everything chris said above except the comment regarding China. I thought the same way "O man, why did they send all the business to china? I asked the Arcteryx rep at my store. The fact of the matter is, Canada simply does not have the advanced clothing manufacturing facility that China has! Check out some of arcteryx new products, built stronger, built better, and made in china. I would still rather have them made in Canada but they are definitely not lacking quality because of it. Hope this clears the air over china....not likely.

Thin enough to breathe well but tough enough for backcountry skiing or backpacking or mountaineering. Like the abrasion resistance. I find the fleece-lined Arc'teryx softshells too warm during aerobic activity (these are made with a Schoeller-type material) - combining with a silkweight baselayer works the best for protection against the elements while not leaving me soaking from exertion. For the price, it's too bad they're now made in China, like a growing number of Arc'teryx products.
