- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This bag is sturdy, and great for walking 'round town, or hitting the hills. I like the vertical front-zip pocket, as it makes everthing easier to find, and grab without all the stuff falling out. The hip belt is a good addition for when I'm out hiking, and I've just filled my water bottle. I have just enough room for an extra layer, something light and compressible (think anything light and down), a Nalgene, and a snack. The side pockets are kind of useless, but I've used them for a Clif bar and to keep other small items in. You definitely cannot fit your water bottle there, and expect it to stay. It will fall out. Thirteen is the perfect size for a day pack, and the suspension on this one is quite comfortable. It's also small enough that you could cinch it down and forget it was there, were you being chased by a bear or if you ended up needing to climb some rocks.
# 13 is my lucky number.
I bought the pack only a cople of months ago, but as it goes once again Arc'teryx stands up to the challeng everytime. I bought this pack because I travel a bit, and like to explore when in new places, I also bike hike climb and camp as much as I can. That said, I bought this bag cus it fits my deuter water bladder nosel 'big' as well as my mac. I have other daypacks but they usually end up being a little to hevy for a long ride, or to much room and I end up carring to much stuff. With this bag you get the best of both worlds and they always do a good job of making there items simple, sleek, and stylish enough.
I give it a 4 star, only because i havent had it long enough to know how long it may last, but knowng Arc'treyx im sure it will stand the test of time as well.
Great little backpack.
It is a perfect size for me. I am 4'11", and have very short torso. Only one thing I don't like about is the side pockets. Those are not deep enough to hold anything. There is no way to put a small water bottle. Wish it was deep enough. Other than that, no complaints.
what's the max size hydration bladder this...
what's the max size hydration bladder this pack (Fly 13) holds?
Also - what are you recommended brand for best hydration packs?
You probably couldn't fit more than 1.5L in this pack. I personally recommend Osprey for most all packs, especially hydration.
does this have exterior water bottle holder...
does this have exterior water bottle holder ?
The Fly 13 has two external mesh pockets, but they're more like shot glass pockets than water bottle holders. They're pretty small.
does anyone have the dimensions of this...
does anyone have the dimensions of this bag?
Fly 13 17 x 9.75 x 8 (LXWXD)
is there a laptop sleeve
is there a laptop sleeve
The Fly doesn't have a laptop sleeve. You could look a the Wasp or Mantis for a sleeve, but only slightly bigger.
Wish it would have worked out
Was a bit small for my needs but black and yellow are my colors. Ride all the Livestrong rides. Went with the next size up, all the features and craftmanship was great, returning was also very easy.
