Great Jacket

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I have used my jacket for two seasons now. I love the fabric and colour. I chose the purple which is deep hues like concord grapes. Great in rain and fall weather. Nice warm lining. Blocks the wind great. Love the hood fit and stays in place. I find the zipper helpful when walking distance. I can let it lose at the bottom for more movement. I use daily for city use as well as fall hikes when weather is rainy. Stylish fit and good functioning jacket. I would recommend this product.

Best townie/commuter jacket EVER

Now, I wear this everyday! I bought this jacket to wear around town and to look nice in, instead of wearing my ski jackets out and about. I wanted something that was also comfortable and long enough to protect against the weather while commuting around town on my bike. This jacket is the answer! Amen! It blocks wind and precipitation wonderfully, it isn't too snug around the hips when riding my bike, and I especially like the wrists. There is a gusset that keeps the wind and chill out from going up my arms. The brushed fleece on the inside is PERFECT. I especially like the hood. Although it isn't adjustable, it stays up and covers everything. The visor is reinforced and it doesn't sit too far forward or too far back on my head.

I have gotten a ton of compliments on this jacket, and I really like the Calypso color.

Sizing... I an 5'10" 155 athletic build with long arms and broad shoulders. I bought the Large based on the everyone's suggestions to size up. Glad i did! The shoulders fit good, the arm length is perfect, and while everything else is a tiny bit on the loose side, it's better for biking around town and being able to move. Love love love this jacket!

It is a favorite - but NOT for winter

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

I own this jacket/coat since 6 months and ordered it now for my mother. It is a great jacket for spring/autumn (for middle Europe), and it looks stylish and is perfectly o.k. to wear in town. It is wind stopper material with a fleece coating inside, it does not have a lot of insulation and the cut is relatively tight (not as tight as some other, more technical wind stopper jackets), so you cannot wear heavy insulated layers below. And it wouldn't look nice either. With most brands I wear XS, but with Arcteryx I wear S. This way, I can wear a thick pullover under this coat easily. It is a great jacket - functional and really good-looking!

I just received this jacket and in the photo it shows the arcteryx logo on the sleeve but mine says wind stopper on both sleeves. Why is it not as pictured? I liked the logo on the sleeve.
