Arc'teryx built the Women’s Delta SV Jacket for maximum heat retention, breathability, and compressibility—without weighing you down with mannish bulk. Super high-loft Polartec material keeps the jacket silky-soft and comfy, yet moisture resistant. The full front zip has a chin guard to prevent scraping, and gusseted underarms keep the jacket in place when you move around. The Polartec Thermal Pro wicks moisture away from your body while retaining heat. This helps prevent funk buildup when you wear it as an insulating layer during day after day of ski touring, hiking, and climbing. Pockets with laminated zips and a laminated hem draw cord round out this SV's sturdy features.
Bottom Line: Tough fleece for harsh climates—with soft details a lady appreciates.
I accidentally ended up with two, the mineral color, and the eclipse, expecting to return one. I love them both so much that I kept them. I keep them in rotation, one for work, one for outdoor activities. How warm is it? After a day snowboarding in Tahoe, I stood around outside with my Delta SV on, my jacket hanging open, while the rest of my friends were shivering. The cut is stylish and flattering to the feminine form. I've been complimented wearing it to work. It's not dressy, per se, but I don't look like I should be wearing hiking shoes with it, either. The sleeves are long enough for those of us with slightly longer arms. The wrists are tight enough that they won't ride up when layered with a shell. The high neck zippered area is soft and protected, you won't get a rash where the zipper ends like with other jackets. It's soft & fluffy, the colors are nice, every detail has been worked out but I trust it to be rugged. If you run on the colder side, or spend time in the cold outdoors, you won't be disappointed. This is a very warm jacket.
The Delta SV is not wind-resistant. This jacket excels at insulating under a shell without being bulky or stiff. For wind-resistant insulation, my favorite is the Arc'teryx Hercules; it's got a high-loft fleece inside and Powershield 02 face fabric (this blocks about 60% of wind, light moisture and slides nicely under shells without being stiff like windstopper fleece) It's really comfortable and versatile. The Delta SV is a super insulator, but not as versatile to wear by itself. Another wind-resistant fleece is the Accomplice, but only about half as warm as these two.Hope that helps!

My last two Arc'teyx reviews have been placed at the lower end of the stars. This jacket is a warm fleece which is all I can really say about its assets. The fit is very slim; the sleeves were much too tight and uncomfortable to the point of constriction under the armpits. I may be finished with the Arc'teryx brand. I also found the fleece to be itchy.
Full disclosure, I have no idea what to look for in a fleece jacket. I purchased the Arc'teryx Delta SV because of the shape and color. When it arrived (very quickly - Thank you Backcountry!) I opened the package and found this limp, thin fleece that wears tight around my wrists. I will return it because I didn't feel it was worth the $189 sale price I paid for it.
The Arc'teryx Delta SV Women's Jacket is amazing...unlike many other types of fleece, the pile stays new-looking for a LONG time-I have had one of them for two years now, and recently bought a second, as it is a classic-type fit that flatters most females, I believe. The price seemed a bit steep initially, but the fabric weathers so well that it proves the "you get what you pay " adage. Great insulator jacket-i am an active person, but always (often) cold, but am NEVER cold when wearing my Arc'teryx fleece jackets!
..it is crap -- take it away. I am normal size small and fit into all other arc'teryx i have purchased. This is super duper tight in the arms, around the neck, super wide around the waist. It is darker than the photo (Shitake) which is fine, but the fabric is flimsy.
Write your question here...Hi-I have 2 Arc'teryx fleece jackets, one in dark brown, the other in black. I LOVE the fit and the feel of them both-but am wondering about washing-I was told when I bought the first one at a mountainneering shop in Mammoth Lakes, CA to wash cold and dry with jeans, to keep the fabric from "pilling". However, I have had to do battle with little gobs of fuzz on both the jackets, whether I dry in the dryer or air dry. Any suggestions? Thanks.
this jacket was as warm and fuzzy as I'd hoped - great as a layering piece. my only complaint is the very narrow arm - a flattering look but makes it difficult to wear thicker long-sleeved layers underneath. I'm a "thin" person but i can only fit a thin cotton long-sleeved T under the jacket. not windproof but keeps me VERY warm under a shell.
Not the quality I had anticipated, so will be returning it. The worst feature is that the arms fit incredibly tightly from the elbows on down. I didn't even have a long sleeved shirt on underneath and they fit very tight, not just snug. And my arms are not very buff in the forearms at all, just average. Otherwise it is nicely fitted and true to size and stylish. The quality of the fleece is o.k. Not nearly as soft as Marmot or Mountain Hardware.
I'm a petite size and usually XS works for me. I am concerned about the comments about how long the sleeves are. Are they longer than the norm? Are there any petites out there that have bought the XS?
This fleece is so comfortable and so warm... I can wear it alone under my Stingray Shell without beeing cold even when temperature lowers near zero!!! I have chosen the black one... It looks like a a Teddy bear! Love everything of it!
I purchased this coat for use on my NOLS semester and so far it has been perfect. It is incredibly warm, soft, and well fitted. Even after washing it the inside( and outside) are very plush and soft. I highly recommend it!
This is my second Delta SV Jacket. It is the warmest fleece I've ever owned, probably because it conforms really well to the body. I have two of them and wear them all the time in the winter or on cool summer nights at altitude. Also, the sleeves are actually long enough!
I absolutely love this fleece. The fit is true to size. It is a real find, warm, comfy, and very stylish. I am contemplating purchasing another. I also love this site, I have bought from u guys three times this year already. Your a dream come true for our family.
This jacket is very warm and very comfortable. The cut and fit are good. Like most Arc'teryx jackets it is shaped to fit the body and presents an attractive silhouette. This is a good insulating layer for very cold days.
The Delta SV is everything I thought it would be. Its lightweight, not bulky at all and keeps me super warm. And the sleeves were actually long enough!
I bought this jacket for my wife. This is her favorite jacket to wear on cold days. This jacket is lightweight, very warm and has a great fit that allows full movement. It's much warmer, has better wind resistance and doesn't pill up as easy as traditional fleece. I recommend this jacket.
Another overpriced garment from Arc'Teryx. For the price, this jacket doesn't deliver. I bought this for my sister and then returned it immediately. The fabric feels really thin, and would definitely not stop any wind. The high loft fleece is soft, but not as soft as other jackets of similar make. I ended up buying the Mountain Hardwear Mynx Jacket for her, which is cheaper, but has WindStopper. The Mynx is also MUCH softer than the Arc'Teryx Delta SV.
The Arc'teryx Delta SV Jacket is the best fleece jacket that I've ever owned in terms of fit and function. I must preface this by saying that I haven't used it in the winter yet, but I love the fit, comfort and color of it. I ordered the shitake color, and it's a nice, light green. I'm 5'6", 115 lbs, and the small is perfect. It is an athletic fit, so note that it will fit somewhat snugly in the arms as other reviewers have said. I'm thinking it will be great for climbing as the sleeves aren't so long that they get in the way of the hands. In addition, the collar can be worn up for extra warmth but is big enough to be comfortable and cozy without restricting movement or feeling like a weak person choking you. Bleh. LOVE IT!
