Don't be surprised if a passerby mistakes your Men's Crosswire Jacket for a bomber-style jacket of yesteryear. Simple, clean lines and durable cotton canvas give a nod to classic work wear, while the technical appeal of the Vislon front zipper brings the look of this jacket up to date. Arc'teryx designers added a crisp mandarin collar in order to really polish the style and gussets at the underarms in order to ensure a comfortable fit for work, play, or travel.
  • Cotton canvas fabric is highly durable and gives this jacket a soft, smooth feel
  • Gusseted underarms allow unrestricted movement at the arm
  • Trim fit allows for layering underneath without looking baggy
  • Vislon center zipper is durable, it won't jam, and it lends the front of the jacket a subtly technical look
  • Hand pockets have zipper closures for extra security

Backcountry twice price matched Altrec for me on the Crosswire at $102 and $96. On the first go around the jacket in a Large proved too tight in the chest and at the bottom of the jacket. Blame it on the trim fit. The Arcteryx website deemed it a relaxed fit, but the Backcountry ad rightly called it a trim fit. And that it is. Returned the Large for an Extra Large, but to no avail. Though it fit in the chest and at the waist the sleeves proved too long in an Extra Large. If one is of a stocky, muscular build, and resembles a fullback, this jacket may not be for you. I'm 5'11" 210lbs. The jacket was the best cotton canvas coat I'd ever tried on and it was truly a downer to not be able to get an acceptable fit.

The fit and look are exactly what I was looking for in a fall/spring, light, casual jacket. Unfortunately, the "Graphite" color is more of a dark green than it is gray. The pictures on the website are not exactly accurate, unless of course my computer is color blind.
