I'm 5'8, 34D, 25in waist and I wear a S. 125lbs. I hope this helps anyone choose a final size.

love it as a sweater but not as a coat

By:
January 2, 2009

great sweater, been wearing it all around the cold house for the winter. The sweater weave isn't windproof so keep it in mind if you want this as a primary layer. Sizingwise I think it's true to fit, I bought a XL for extra length but would prefer a trimmer fit of a L (which would be my normal size)

my favorite fleece

By:
April 24, 2007

This is by far my favorite fleece (from a technical wear junkie and Arc'Teryx enthusiast, this is saying quite a lot). It's nicely tailored for a flattering fit, so it's not too bulky to layer under a shell or a poofy. Also surprisingly windproof, and my dog's hair is invisible against the basmati color.

pricey covert cardigan

By:
February 27, 2008

the fit is tight .. it's meant to tho. I am a medium and this sweater fits like a glove. the material does pill and it is not wind proof .. wear this as a mid layer if you are the type that gets cold easy. the quality of the stitching is superb.
best bet is to get a good sale or, think about buying wool for this kind of price.

great tech piece...hard to match quality

By:
December 29, 2008

Love this line, both the full zip here and the 1/4 zip...athletic fit is trim...am a 34 B - 5'8" 125 lbs and the small fits against body well, no excess fabric when layering under a shell or under a harness or backpack. I use as a middle layer in rain or snow with a shell or as a light jacket on a clear spring or fall day. Too hot for aerobic activity, so I carry mine with me to add when I stop for breaks while hiking or snowshoeing. Wash inside out on gentle with a tech non-detergent cleaner and in cool water and that will help with the pilling many of you seem to be experiencing...have had mine for two yrs and they still look next to new...no excess pilling or shrinkage

Dreamy

By:

Like all of the other reviewers, I found the quality of this fleece to be superb. The cut is a bit different than that of their zip neck Covert - I find that this one fits more like a general (if technical)sweater than a purely technical piece. The extra small is perfect if you're a 32b/34a type. One thing I really appreciate about Arc'teryx in general is that they are good about sizing between their shells and fleeces - the fleece is fitted enough to wear under a shell of the same size with no difficulty. One of the best pieces that I own!

Covert Cardigan

By:
May 17, 2007

One again another great piece from Arc'teryx..Runs small..order one size up..if you wash in warm water the piece shrinks in the arms and overall length. Tends to pill after repeated wearings..But love the warmth, fit and performance. Will buy again but larger.

Women's Arc'teryx covert cardigan

By:
November 2, 2005

This is a super-designed cardigan, with the top notch quality I'd expect from Arc'teryx. It’s unbelievably soft and the jacket I grab first whenever I go out. It works well for outdoor activities then does double duty as a casual sweater too. My only complaint would be its tendency to pill on the outside surface. All in all, it’s highly recommended!

This jacket rules!!

I love this Covert Cardigan. It is lightweight but very warm and fits absolutely great, like all Arcteryx gear does. It is also extremely well made. The sweater knit look is very nice, and a nice change from the usual fleece look. I liked mine enough that I bought my boyfriend one.

Love this jacket!!!!

By:

This jacket does run on the small side, so if your planning on wearing a shirt under this, be sure to order a size larger than you normally would. I actually tried this jacket on at another store to make sure the size was right for me—I would recommend this before buying. The jacket turned out to be my favorite of all my casual wear jackets.

the warm fuzzies

By:

Great shape. Amazing weave to the fleece—looks like a sweater, feels like a fleece. I've purchased a lot of garments that talk a lot about 'wicking' properties in their fabrics, but this is the only thing I've owned where it's true. Wearing it for warm-up on a hike for example, I sweat easily and normally I might even sweat through a thin fleece a bit, but when I took it off, beads of sweat had been mysteriously redistributed elsewhere, and the armpit fabric remained cool to the touch. Flattering shape, long enough in the torso, wicked zips.

okay

Arc’teryx definitely designs things well: this fleece fit GREAT, is very high quality and the brown color is superb. Alas, I ordered the small and it is too tight over a sweater; fine over just a shirt (I am a 36B, size 6). I also didn't find it very "sweatery." The woven fleece is cool, but not all that different from regular fleece. I returned it to buy a medium in one of Arc’teryx's more basic fleeces.

Looks nice... but pills

By:
October 23, 2006

The Covert looks great, however I have worn mine a lot and it pilled quite badly, making it look very used. Also if you are looking for a WARM jacket this one may not be the way to go, it is a little thin and in order for me to stay warm (if I am not doing something aerobic in it) I have to layer. I have actually just returned my covert to Arc’teryx in exchange for something that shouldn't pill. Arc’teryx customer service is absolutely awesome they have been more than helpful in my exchange.

They fit small. I bought a medium for a girl freind. Had to give to my sister instead. The XS must be tiny.

My first Arc’teryx purchase. I am not disappointed! The quality is outstanding. Attractive feminine design, looks good on the trail and in town. Plum is a really nice color. My favorite fleece jacket now!

Versatile Layer

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 29, 2007

This is the most versatile shirt/sweatshirt/jacket I've ever owned. I love wearing it as a layer skiing (it's quite thin), when it gets cold in the office, and as a jacket in the spring. The fit is true to size and considering how much I've worn this, it has worn extremely well.
