    A minimalist wind jacket.

Grab the Arc'teryx Women's Cita Hooded Jacket when the thought of canyon winds or ridgeline gusts make you cringe but you still need to get your butt on the running trail. Crafted from DWR-treated Lumin nylon, this minimalist jacket won't be taken down by stiff winds or grabby branches. Polyester mesh panels help your pits pump out the heat. A fitted hood holds tight to your head so drizzles stay away and your ears don't freeze from a bitter wind. The trim fit doesn't leave loads of fabric to flap around in the breeze, and the drop-tail rear hem reduces the chances you'll finish the run with the nick-name of 'Mud Butt.' When the air calms down and the sun comes out, stuff the Cita inside its own pocket and carry on down the dusty path.

I got this jacket as a gift three months ago, and I've been hard-pressed to run or ride without it since!

The first thing I noticed about this jacket was how incredibly lightweight it is! It feels like nothing, like you're holding a sheet of air, if that makes any sense. The fit is superb, allowing for an excellent range of motion while running or cycling, without sacrificing a close to the body fit along the torso where I like to have less fabric moving about. I'm 5'6" and about 145pounds 32D and the medium fits well with my solid sports bra on--Arc'teryx products in general tend to be slightly small around the bust for me.

The little side pocket on the left hip is perfect for my keys, chapstick, and ipod shuffle. I haven't liked to put my phone in that pocket, as it tends to drag the whole jacket to that side in a less than comfortable manner. There is also a headphone port on the inside of the pocket, so I can thread my earbud cord through that and into the pocket, which has been a fantastic upgrade from my previous Nike jacket.

I also really like the fit of the hood--I'm partial to the storm hood style, where I can sort of nuzzle into the collar/hood of a jacket when the weather turns chilly. With my Buff as a neckgaiter, and merino baselayer, this has been perfect so far down to about 25*.

As much as I love this layer for running, it's also been the perfect addition to my cycling wardrobe. I'm new to riding in the mountains, and my Cita Hoody has been my solution for layering on the descent of climbs. It packs down so small that it fits perfectly in my jersey pocket, without taking up valuable room for snacks.

Overall, I love it. I've had no complaints about it in the last three months of pretty consistent use from running in Michigan to riding through the Wasatch!
