Material used wrinkles like crazy

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs large
  • Height: 5'3"
    Weight: 120 lbs
    Size Purchased: small

Given that the pants are meant for being an active pant I am really surprised by how these wrinkle and look terrible even if kept nicely folded. Originally I wanted to use these climbing but the sizing is off for me. They seem really long and although the leg cuff is more narrow than the bottom of the pant, it is not narrow enough to stop the pants from slipping over my climbing shoes when I climb, interfering with foot holds. Also, the pockets are useless when climbing as the harness goes overtop of where you would access the pockets. As ArcTeryx is a climbing company I would have hoped they would have designed these better.

I don't see how you could dress these up with the wrinkle issues, and the weight of the pant is interesting too. They are too heavy and retain heat in the summer, but then too lightweight for winter. Keep on thinking that I will find a purpose for these as they are an unique style, but really wish I had returned them within the return window instead.

I love these pants. They're insanely comfortable for lounging around or doing yard work in hot weather, and they also offer plenty of freedom of movement for climbing, though I probably wouldn't wear them on your bike. You can get creative with the unique style (they actually dress up pretty well). Run true to size. I really wish Backcountry would bring in the capri version.
