Arc'teryx Candidate Pant - Men's - 2009 BCS

I was a bit skeptical spending this much on a pair of pants, but I've had them now for 6 months and they are my favorite pants, actually the only pants I wear now...and they're still solid even through climbing, riding, hiking, yoga, work in a local tofu factory, and everyday use. I'm 5'8, 140 with a 28" waist. I got the 28" pant and it fit like it was custom made for me, just enough give - even after a huge meal. I wear them out everywhere, nice enough for a night on the town and functional even in the most technical and awkward positions. I've walked through waist high streams with these on and they dried out in less than a half hour while on. The stretch these pants have is amazing and they're super comfortable. Best pants ever and now the only pant I wear. Hope this helps.

You almost forget that you have on long pants when wearing the Candidate; it's that comfortable. The Fortius fabric is a pleasure to use and provides a good balance of stretch comfort, wind resistance, and breathability. The 32" waist and 32" length are true to size. The pants launder easily and come out ready to go. They are excellent travel pants and are stylish enough for the occasional foray to a restaurant or opera. The coin pocket is on the left (most are on the right) but it's there and it works. Highly recommended if you want to go one step up from the Rampart pants.
