The Arc'teryx Bora 50 Backpack has enough cargo space to carry all the gear for a plush overnight camping trip and ultra-comfortable suspension to make the hiking as enjoyable as possible. In addition to the Bora 50 Backpack's 2800cu inch (medium) main compartment, it also includes a front kangaroo pocket, a lid pocket, and two stowable water-bottle pockets. Arc'teryx used their thermoformed waist-belt and back panel technology to give this overnight pack a comfortable carry. A single aluminum stay supports the load, even if you go a little overboard on the comfort items.

Bottom Line: Bring all you need, and do it comfortably thanks to the Arc'teryx Bora 50 Backpack's excellent support.

Great pack

By:

This pack is pretty much as described -- really well-made, heavy duty and comfortable. A little small for overnighters (at least with what I pack), but suitable for long day hikes and traveling.

The pack described as having interchangeable hip belts. It seems like this site orders them all with medium belts. If you need to switch that out, just call A'T warranty department and, for the price of postage, you can exchange the standard belt with a small or large. They are easy to replace...

is the torso length on the bora 50 longer than the bora 35?

is the torso length on the bora 50 longer than the bora 35? The hip belt of the bora 35 doesn't reach my hips - it sits around my naval. wondering if the larger volume pack will help with this and place the hip belt where it needs to be for proper fit.

Matt, pack volume and pack length are generally unrelated in the following sense. You can typically buy a pack in small, medium or large (Arc'teryx uses short, regular and tall). These sizes correspond to torso length. So if your Bora 35 is too short for you, the solution isn't to buy a larger volume pack, but a larger torso size pack. Note that the larger the torso size of the same volume pack will result in a slight volume increase, but in general, the two are not related. Yes, It has a shovel pocket

The big kangaroo pocket on the back holds a shovel, handle and probe. This capability makes it a great overnight ski pack, and a great travel pack. Not lightweight but built to last the ages.
