Description

This baby is ready for whatever Mother Nature throws her way.

What was supposed to be a bluebird day in the backcountry has become one filled with howling winds and snow, but at least you wore the lightweight, durable, and extremely packable Arc'teryx Women's Beta AR Jacket. Made with 3-layer Gore-Tex fabric, tiny Gore-taped seams, and laminated zippers, this gem of a jacket fully protects you from the freezing rain, blinding snow, and rain.

  • Waterproof breathable Gore-Tex Pro membrane, DWR finish, and super-tight weave of the proprietary N70p shell fabric work together to keep you dry in raging storms
  • N70p nylon is also extremely durable, yet supple and soft to the touch
  • Ergonomic e3D fit allows free movement
  • Extra-long underarm vents close with WaterTight zippers
  • Upgraded WaterTight Vislon front zipper glides smoothly in any conditions
  • Draft-resistant tall stand-up collar is topped by helmet-compatible drop hood that makes noggin' saturation a thing of the past
  • Light weight enhances the jacket's versatility; feel free to take it on your longest treks
  • Laminated cuff tabs and adjustable hem drawcord seal out drafts
  • Front pockets are placed high up so you can reach them even in a climbing harness, and close with laminated WaterTight zippers so the contents stay dry
  • Internal laminated pocket gives you secure storage

This coat is awesome paired with the Beta AR pant. Here is a picture of me wearing the pants and jacket over jeans and a sweatshirt getting sprayed and showered on, I stayed 100% dry. Very lightweight and fits true to size.

Gave as a gift to my girlfriend. She hasn't stopped wearing it, climbing, hiking, in town.

Perfect all year round weight. Very packable, took it up to the grand this past weekend, layered over some down in the morning and used it to block the wind the rest of the day. Pocket placement and length was perfect for under a harness! And hood fit perfectly over a helmet. Tiger Lilly is exceptionally bright, with some adorable magenta zipper pulls!

Our most abundant natural resource here in the Northwest is water, which makes this jacket the most-used gear that I own. Better than AmEx, I don't leave home without it. Since I bought it in February, I've worn this jacket up 11 different mountains, on half a dozen snowboarding outings, on lots of day hikes and climbing outings, and generally every day that it rains. It still looks brand new, and has performed perfectly. The huge pit zips are great for ventilation, and the hood is adjustable for over my helmet or without. I ordered a larger size than normal so I could wear it over every layer I own, but the cut is still flattering enough that I don't look like I'm wearing my tent. It is also lightweight enough (14.08 oz, to be exact) that I can pack it for every hike without worrying about unnecessary weight. Other shells I've owned in the past were narrow through the shoulders and really restricted movement, but this one is perfect. Last but not least, the internal pocket is just large enough for my cell phone with its bulky waterproof impact-resistant case. Expensive yes, but with the quality and lifetime warranty, it is worth the investment. (Also good to find it on a 30% off sale ;-)

Of course. It's not a ski specific coat, in that there isn't a powder skirt, but it does have a waist and hem cinch, helmet compatible hood, and is totally wind and waterproof. The nice thing about this is it's great as a year round foul weather jacket. For more ski specific Arc'teryx jackets, check the Scimitar, Stingray or Tempest.
