Description

Versatility at its finest.

You'll end up keeping the Arc'teryx Women's Atom LT Hooded Insulated Jacket close by throughout the year. Wear it by itself from spring to fall on chilly outdoorsy adventures whether you're backpacking or hiking, and then slide a waterproof shell over it for ski sessions in winter. Its Tinthan shell keeps the Atom LT light yet strong, and the DWR coating sheds light rainfall to help keep you dry. Polartec Power Stretch side panels wick moisture, dry quickly, breathe, and provide a four-way stretch for uninhibited mobility.

Arc'teryx also added Coreloft insulation that uses air permeable panels to ensure excellent thermal regulation. A trim fit helps you layer over the Atom Lt with ease, and the StormHood is adjustable, insulated, and helmet-compatible. This jacket also features an adjustable hem for a secure fit, two zippered hand pockets, and one zippered internal chest pocket.

Luff Luff Luff!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I am so happy I got this gem! An awesome base layer and great to wear when running around in fairly cool temps. It is minorly insulated in the chest and back and has like fabric air panels on the sides. I ordered oxblood and the color wasn't really as shown in the photo. It's more fire engine red than it is a brick red which I expected, but I'm still cool with it
I am freakishly tall BTW (6ft), so don't gauge your size fit off of my picture unless you too belong to the circus ;)

Awesome to read a review from a tall woman! I am about to buy one for my 6'1" wife and as you know the sleeves are always a problem. Looks like that fits you pretty well.

What is the center back length of a medium?

How is the length of this jacket? Does it run longer or shorter?

Responded on

The Atom LT is hip length, so somewhat short when compared to a jacket that is thigh length.

I can't stop wearing it.

I'm in love with this jacket. It's warm, lightweight, stylish, comfortable, and I want one in every color. I got the Patina Teal, and it's perfect. Arc'teryx knows what they're doing. The fit is perfect (I'm 5'5''ish, 140lbs, broad swimmer's shoulders, got a medium). I am not a warm person, but this thing has been keeping me happy this chilly fall. It is a flattering fit, and I especially love the fitted wrist cuff, which seals off any possibility of sneaky winds getting inside and making me angry.

which is warmer the Atom AR or the Atom LT jacket?

Best Answer Responded on

The Atom AR. It has 40g more of insulation and the side panels are fully insulated as opposed to the LT which has Polartec hardface Wind Pro side panels for better breathability. I own both. The LT is perfect for being active in cold weather and a standalone piece in fall and spring. If you want pure warmth the AR is the LT on steroids. Coreloft is my favorite synthetic insulation thus far.

I love this jacket so much I bought two.

Do it, BUY IT!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Absolutely my favorite go-to piece. There isn't a single thing I don't love about this item. I have other Arc'teryx items and they sometimes fit me kind of wonky (short on the arms, tight on the chest, short on the torso) so I was skeptical to invest in the Atom but I am just so pleased. I am 5' 10'' and 145lbs and a medium fits every area great. Perfect on the arms and chest but with enough room for me to wear other layers underneath and compressible to wear an outer layer on top. It also packs great and really condenses. It's perfect for wandering around the PNW - if it looks like rain may come, I know the Atom will do a great job of keeping me dry in light showers. Also, it looks SO GOOD. I wear it out and about and feel like it really flatters a women's figure. I also live in a house where everyone - male and female- owns and Atom and we all feel the same love for this item. It's so perfect for so many adventures or activities- definitely worth the price!

My second Atom LT

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

So I first bought an Atom LT last winter. It is my favorite jacket for around town, Touring, hiking/camping and climbing. It's really the most versatile thing ever! If I had the money I'd buy all the colors that I want (let me tell you I want a lot of them). I purchased my second one because I bought the first one in a size medium for the extra length but I found that it was a bit baggy and I would rarely wear anything under it because it kept me so warm as a standalone. So I got a size small and I love it! It fits perfect everywhere and I look forward to using it in the fall! I am truly satisfied with this jacket that I would recommend it to any one that is looking for an all around kick ass insulated layer.
