    Versatility at its finest.

You'll end up keeping the Arc'teryx Women's Atom LT Hooded Insulated Jacket close by throughout the year. Wear it by itself from spring to fall on chilly outdoorsy adventures whether you're backpacking or hiking, and then slide a waterproof shell over it for ski sessions in winter. Its Tinthan shell keeps the Atom LT light yet strong, and the DWR coating sheds light rainfall to help keep you dry. Polartec Power Stretch side panels wick moisture, dry quickly, breathe, and provide a four-way stretch for uninhibited mobility.

Arc'teryx also added Coreloft insulation that uses air permeable panels to ensure excellent thermal regulation. A trim fit helps you layer over the Atom Lt with ease, and the StormHood is adjustable, insulated, and helmet-compatible. This jacket also features an adjustable hem for a secure fit, two zippered hand pockets, and one zippered internal chest pocket.

    Surprisingly versatile

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I got this jacket in the fall after my last lighter winter coat was stolen. I had been looking at a Patagonia down sweater jacket, but the salesperson at the store urged me to check out the Atom. When I first got it, I noticed that wind penetrates the side panels pretty easily, and I was worried that I had dropped almost $300 on a glorified hoodie. Well, I've worn this coat almost every day through this Chicago winter. It's not enough for the most bitter days, but with a little layering, the Atom LT is all I need. I'm so pleased and surprised with how versatile it is -- I'm considering getting an AR too, just to have the slightly warmer option.

    Nice looking, warm jacket!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket as a gift for my mother-in-law who wanted something light and warm. This jacket looks great, is great quality, and very warm considering how thin it is. She wears it all the time and can't say enough great things about it. Highly recommended.

    Mom Approves!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M

Bought this jacket as a Christmas gift for my mom. She absolutely love it! Inside or out, she constantly has this jacket on. Lightweight, breathable, and remarkably warm. If you're looking for a stellar gift for a lady in your life, look no further.

    Worth EVERY penny!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I have worn this every day since the day I got it in the mail. It was a birthday gift from my husband who loved his so much he got me one. My only "con" is that it's not very long. I like my jackets a little past the hip. Super warm and heat regulated and I really like the elastic sleeve cuffs.

    Meh

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

I'm curvy, I have a bigger chest. This fit boxy. Not that it wasn't an amazing product. The structure was awesome. Extremely well made and felt very warm and comfortable. Just wasn't my jam.

Number One Jacket in my Closet

After constantly borrowing this jacket from a friend, I took the plunge and bought one for myself in September. Light weight and super warm it will go from outerwear in the Fall to an amazing layer in the Winter. Also shout out to Austin Desilvia for assisting me during the entire process. He took such great care of me!

    Magic Jacket

How can this jacket be so incredibly lightweight but offer such warmth? Must be magic! Or Arc'teryx must really knows what they are doing! I have the men's version of this jacket myself and have loved it so much I bought my wife one this fall. She has done nothing but rave about the jacket since day one. She tends to run cold and was nervous this coat would not offer the warmth she was hoping for, but she's not faced a temperature the Atom couldn't keep up with yet. Needless to say she's been very impressed! HIGHLY recommend, everyone should have an Atom.

      Who needs a big hood?

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

Just yesterday I was thinking that there can't be that many people who need a hood to be big enough to go over a helmet and then there I am this morning mountain biking with my dog in 30 mph winds and I needed a big hood to go over my bike helmet. It was perfect and I was plenty warm. When you zip it all the way up you get a nice warm neck, too. I'm so happy with this jacket!
It was about 40 F out so I wore an Arc'teryx softshell over it and was very comfortable.

      Fantastic jacket!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Given as a gift here's what she had to say.

"Now that I have this jacket, I would highly recommended for it to be a staple in anyone's closet. Being concerned with packing bulkier items, i'm really impressed with its light weight nature and the amount of warmth it provides! Not only that but it's very comfortable and offers tons of flexibility. I'm 5'1, (5'2 on a good day) the arm length and torso fit just right. That being said if between sizes, I would size up. For myself, a MEDIUM would have been just fine while an XS I could imagine wouldn't leave much room to layer and maybe even too snug on its own. Overall, a fantastic jacket!"

      As advertised

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this for a friend who said "This jacket does everything it advertises. It kept my body heat regulated hiking at 16K ft with a layer underneath. The fit is very comfortable and functional. I love this jacket."

Wore it for 4 days straight

I bought this jacket with the idea in mind that I wanted the warmest most compressible jacket I could find. This jacket was definitely sufficient! I used it while camping in Germany in October when it was about 55°F and raining. I never wore more than I t-shirt under it. It was quite water resistant and very compressible! I could stuff it into my purse or my backpack, no problem! I slept in this jacket as well! It's sooo extremely comfortable! I bought this jacket from a different vendor so actually had the luxury of trying it on first and that was really the selling point! It feels amazing!

        Warm city/climbing puff jacket

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

This jacket has been PERFECT for the fall/winter SF weather. It's also been great for lighter outdoor climbing trips in cool temps (I have worn it while bouldering and single pitch leading, it held up well and kept me warm enough), but I would not test it on climbs with a lot of very sharp surfaces. It provides the right amount of warmth for temps in the 50s/40s F and does well with windy conditions (relatively windproof but you have to be moving to stay toasty). It might be decent at colder temperatures, aka 30s, if you are moving around consistently, but the stretchy panels of fabric on the side make it not as ideal for chilly winter or mountain weather. However, the side panels are nice for breathability. The outer material is very durable and light. I would highly recommend wearing a waterproof shell over it in the rain/slush/snow, as it is definitely not waterproof. One more bonus: it looks really nice and the size M is long enough for my torso and arms without having folds of fabric in the body of the jacket/ looking huge (I'm 5' 8" and lean with long limbs, so sizing jackets right can be tricky).

        Best coat!

This is one of the best coats I have ever owned! It is super warm, comfortable and very light weight and easy to pack. I got it in the "mirage" color which I love because it is pretty unique for a coat. It is a brownish/mauve color and I really like the contrast of the neon yellow on it.

          Arc'teryx – Women's Atom LT Hoody

This trim hybrid hoody is designed as an active-use insulation layer, providing vital core warmth with liberal mobility and breathability. Lightweight and compressible, the Atom LT Hoody features Coreloft™ insulation in the torso, arms and hood. The side panels and underarms feature Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface® Technology, delivering stretch mobility and breathability. A wind and moisture resistant outer shell extends stand-alone usability.

Fact: Every person at Head Office owns at least one Atom LT; most of the women have two.

The reason: Coreloft™ insulation inside a light taffeta shell. All the comfort of a sleeping bag, but it feels weightless.

          Stave off "the grumpy"

I wasn't sure if I should add to these reviews, as they are already shining. This is hands down one of my favorite jackets. It's my go-to for alpine climbing, layering under ski gear, nordic skiing on extra chilly evenings, biking around town, camping, etc etc. I joke that I should get the black Arcteryx for "dressing up". I'm ashamed to admit that I've strayed from the Atom LT Hoody to try out different jackets, but have yet to find one that compares in terms of breathability, warmth, soft hand, packability and stretchy comfort.

I've had my jacket for nearly 5 years, and am debating getting a new one simply because my puppy decided to chew through the cinch pull at the waist. I'm 5"10 and about 155 lbs and the medium is a beaut.

          • Size Bought: Medium

I bought this for my daughter and she loves it: it's very light, packs small, and is a good fit. I bought a medium and it's perfect; for once the arms are long enough without having to go up a size.

what color is the lining around the hood on your atom lt hooded in color Silver Lining

I'm interested in the atom lt silver lining color and I'd like to know what does the color closely resemble because the picture looks white. I would use it for learning how to ski so it would be getting damp from the snow . I am 4 foot 11, chest 33 and 108 pounds, do you think the extra small would be fine or would you recommend something else .I do not like anything bulky and I would like to be able to move around good. I do tend to get cold easy. Are there any other lightweight jackets that you would recommend for a petite person like me.

          Hey Lisa,

The Silver Lining color is an off white, soft silver grey. The Atom LT is a versatile, lightweight jacket but it would not be the best choice as a stand alone ski jacket. You could wear it under a technical shell like the Arc'teryx Alpha SV or the Ravenna. Your other option would be to get an insulated ski jacket like the Arc'teryx Andessa or the Fission SL . Feel free to contact me directly to discuss your options or if you have any other questions about Arc'teryx Jackets.

I'm studying for a year in Lausanne, Switzerland, and am wondering if this jacket would be warm enough for those temperatures in the winter (will be between 25-50 degrees Fahrenheit) as a stand-alone jacket over a base layer.

Hey there! I love this jacket and it has served me really well in many conditions. However, I wouldn't recommend it for any colder than 40 degrees F as a stand along jacket over a baselayer, unless you're hiking or climbing and working really hard. It is a fairly light jacket really and the wind penetrates it thoroughly. The Atom AR has a bit more serious insulation and will be a bit warmer, but you may want a high fill (750 or so) down jacket if the temperature will be closer to 20 regularly. Maybe the Thorium AR Hooded jacket? Hope this was helpful.

Am almost 5'11" and am roughly 145lbs..slender but tall...leaning toward buying one but not sure if M or L...recommendation?

          Best Answer

I would recommend going with a Large in this particular jacket since it is a trim fit. If for some reason the Large does not fit, we can always help you exchange it for another size for free.

which is warmer the Atom AR or the Atom LT jacket?

          Best Answer

The Atom AR. It has 40g more of insulation and the side panels are fully insulated as opposed to the LT which has Polartec hardface Wind Pro side panels for better breathability. I own both. The LT is perfect for being active in cold weather and a standalone piece in fall and spring. If you want pure warmth the AR is the LT on steroids. Coreloft is my favorite synthetic insulation thus far.
