Arc'teryx made the Atom LT Hooded Insulation Jacket versatile for year-round mountain adventures from climbing to skiing. Its Tinthan shell is light yet durable, and the DWR coating sheds rainfall to help keep you dry on hikes and backpacking trips. Breathable Polartec Power Stretch side panels make sure you can move around with complete freedom of motion, whether you're wearing it as a midlayer or an external shell. Synthetic Coreloft insulation retains its warmth in wet weather, and the adjustable StormHood slides over helmets with ease. Can someone post real pictures of...
Can someone post real pictures of POSEDION & KYANOS color. I am interested in blue but hard to pick the right blue ;)
Thanks for help!
The colors BC.com uses are color-correct and good references. Poseidon is a darker blue, almost more of a "Navy Blue." Kyanos is lighter than Poseidon.
Kyanos is pretty much the same colour as Olympus blue. I put the 2 jackets together and Kyanos was the slightest amount darker in hue.
New Atom LT is a worthy upgrade for some
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
Simple: one of the most versatile synthetic pieces you can buy.
Competitors: BD Access Hybrid/LT, Patagonia Nano Puff, OR Halogen Hoody
The Fall 2014 Atom LT includes a new hood, that uses the 'ballcap' adjuster behind the head- identical to the one used in the Cerium LT hoody.
It moves with your head, offering unparalleled peripheral vision.
It's less warm than the Nano puff, but more versatile. Awesome mid layer for skiing the cold days, or on it's own in the spring. Used it backpacking, walking around town, and on a bike. The fleece lined pockets are a greatly appreciated bonus.

New Atom LT
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This is not a review of warmth or durability. I ordered because I was curious about the new model of this great jacket.
In this revision they changed the fabric which is hard to tell by looking at it. One person said this is the same fabric used on the Atom SV.?? It is still very thin, I took a close up for detail of fabric. The hood has changed to fit a helmet, I can't test the fit as I don't have a helmet to test with but I know it's bigger than the previous and DOES include an adjuster on back of hood which cinches sides and top of hood at the same time. Inside pic of hood shows where the cord runs. They also changed the stretch cuffs by making the cuff shorter. I don't have my old version to show a side by side comparision but if you have the older one you can see the difference. The fit seems a little bigger to me but maybe not. This is the carbon copy color, similiar to colors in the past and not as dark in the stock photo.
I hope this is helpful for someone looking to purchase this updated model. I won't be keeping because the hood is so big for use without a helmet.
Does this model have the hood pull...
Does this model have the hood pull adjuster?
I notice the new model on the arc'teryx website has one but they are only offering three color options on their website. Is this the same model?
Yes it does. I ordered one out of curiosity and to provide a review since no one has yet. The hood is bigger than previous model for helmet. I don't have a helmet to try with it though. I will provide pictures and other thoughts when I have more time.
Not really a question or review but just...
Not really a question or review but just thought it was curious how Arcteryx let BC sell this before they even release it on their site. I am dissapointed as I have been waiting for this new version to come out and see it has a helmet compatible hood and they changed the face fabric. I would like to know how people like the new fabric but I won't be purchasing this one since I don't wear a helmet for my activities and the original hood was even a little big. I hope others like it. I just wish this company made more jackets with normal hoods, though I guess they are aiming at a specific group of people with their gear.
The new fabric is identical to the Atom SV. It's more stout, and less prone crinkling.
I would like to know if this jacket is...
I would like to know if this jacket is waterproof and if it can provide me enough warmth.I am intend to use it in mid mountaineering expeditions and in cold weather conditions. As I will spend the next winter in Northern Europe I would like to know if it is suitable for the purposes I need it for.
This is more of a mid layer for cold weather and outer for cool weather. I would read reviews on the original model, which is still for sale here. I don't know about this one but the other was not waterproof and the specs for this one says it has a thin shell with a DWR to shed rain, but I doubt it is waterproof since it is not a gore-tex shell. Hope this helps.
