    Travel light, go far.

Bringing Arc'teryx' technical know-how to the world of daypacks, the Arro 22 Backpack is compact, sleek, and capable of holding your gear for a day on the trail, in the office, or checking out the sights in a new city. It fits a 15in laptop with no trouble, has stretch side pockets for water bottles or small items, and a vertical-zip front pocket to help you stay organized at work or in the mountains. The zippers are watertight, and the 1260D nylon fabric is made to come through bike crashes and unexpectedly rugged hikes unscathed.

Bike in the rain? NO WORRIES!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

So I got this for my brother because he moved to Portland and it can get pretty wet there. He bikes to work and needs to keep all his belongings and spare pair of clothes dry! This pack is fully waterproof and even the zippers won't leak! It's designed to stay close to the body too so there is minimal swing weight. This is a great gift idea for someone who lives int he northwest and likes to commute via bike. AND it's just a really sweet pack and Arcteryx knows their stuff when it comes to function!

    Great Pack

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased the Arro 22 a few weeks ago because I wanted a small but durable daypack for the daily work grind. I have several other Arc'teryx items and have been consistently impressed with their build quality and attention to detail. That said, I'm once again impressed by the brand due to the excellent design of this pack. The construction is bomber and gives me the confidence that I'll have this pack for many years. The main compartment is elongated and not designed for larger items or heavier loads; however, this makes sense given that Arc'teryx advertises this item as an urban commuting pack. The elongated design coupled with the narrow shoulder straps kept the Arro securely on my back during a recent bike ride. Unlike most packs that slide down your back or interfere with your riding, I felt this pack stayed "high and tight," allowing me to focus on my riding. As for the waterproof elements, while coming out of the office a few weeks ago I was caught in a torrential downpour and was impressed to find that the Arro kept my items completely dry. I also noticed the pack itself dries relatively quickly, which is a plus. Overall, some will find this pack is expensive, but if you need one daypack that you plan to have for years, I'd definitely give this pack a shot.

Well built but oddly configured storage

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Well built but oddly configured storage compartments - I wanted a pack with waterproof zippers & decent resistance to rain storms while on my motorcycle - this is a well built pack but almost useless unless you want to jam everything you carry in a few small elongated compartments. Also the outermost well sealed by the waterproof zipper compartment has a drainage hole in it that appears will allow far more unwanted water in than let any water out - also the two side pockets or compartments are fabricated with mesh so you cannot put anything in them that will not be exposed to the elements. One of those compartments (supposedly for a water bottle but lacks any ability to tighten or secure the bottle in any manner) this back pack could have been a 10 but rates about a 3 in usefulness.
