Toss on your Arc’Teryx Men’s Apache Cardigan Sweater and stoke the fire at base camp. Warm Polartec tweed fabric cuts the chill of the cold Fall weather and a blend of Nylon and Spandex body fabric gives this sweater a smooth fit. Arc’teryx paid particular attention to the details by using flatlocked seams and gusseted construction at the underarms so you stay extra comfy while you wait for the camp cook to whip up something delicious.

great mid-layer

thats what it is, wonderful under my Arc?Teryx Vertical (Vert this year) Gore-Tex shell. doesn't pretend to be anything else. it's a mid layer, not a rain or ski jacket. I don't get those complaining about it pilling, the material is a Polartec product which I haven't had pill. in any garment. no, it's not windproof (try windpro) it's not supposed to be. athletic fit with the usual fine workmanship we find in China.

    Try something else instead.

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

    1. Fit. I am about 175-180 and 5'11" with "athletic" build - Medium fits great (could be about an inch longer, but fits better than most).

    2. Look. Not that it matters, but... it is very clean-cut looking.

    3. Does have a decent warmth/weight (but see the Cons).

    4. Good job with the seams/welds.

    5. Do like the elbow patches.

    1. Will not handle more than 5+ MPH wind (cotton jeans seem to have more wind resistance that the "sweater").

    2. Started to pile on the sleeves after just a few weeks of use (around town mostly).

    3. Again - not windproof. Yes - that's the property of this particular fleece's material, but do not count on this one as the do-it-all fleece.

    4. For the MSRP of close-to-$200, could be a bit better. My 7+ year-old REI fleece was sub $100 and was windproof, using "authentic" Polartec materials. Too bad I finally wore holes in it.
