best rain pants ever

By:

I have used these in the rain hiking up on the mountain boarding one day when I forgot my other pants. These can really do it all keep the rain and moisture out. I coach soccer so it rains a lot so I wear these while coaching they look good and keep me dry and happy. With the articulated knee these are very nice and give me full versatility. The only thing that might turn some people away is the price but if you want a pant that will let moisture out and keep the rain out this is the pant to buy do not worry about the price. Living in the PNW i always throw these on my bag and when other people are runing to get out of the rain i can just throw them on and stay dry.

Pants are good but pricey

Yes, these do what they're supposed to. But at close to $200, they'd better. They proved themselves on a 3 day trek that included 2 days of rain. I can't complain about their performance. Actually I was quite pleased with them - in contrast to my chosen rain jacket by GoLite - the Xirtam that is now known as the sponge. So, the addage that you get what you pay for is holding true for my rainwear. I'm a definite fan of Arcteryx.

Alpha SL Pant - Men's

By:

A great shell pant that performed well through a solid week of BC rain. My only minor complaint is that the waist tie and clasp are too complex for those times when you want or need a "quick release". I found myself fumbling with them a bit. Otherwise I can't imagine a better pant and jacket combo exists.

Light is right

If you hate weight, these pants are great. You’ll never notice the weight in your pack or on your legs. The ¾-length side zips make them easy to put on and take off with boot on, and they don’t go all the way to the waist where they would cause pressure points. Any lighter, and they would not be burly enough for the mountains. But, as they are it’s just enough.
