alpha AR jacket
what are the differences between this and the beta ar? nothing jumps out at me looking at the price and reading the description...
The Beta AR and Alpha AR are designed for different end uses. The Beta AR is a versatile hardshell good for year round use. The Alpha AR is designed with climbers and alpinists in mind. The differences are:
-Face fabrics and weight - the Alpha AR is 65 grams lighter
-Center front lengths - Beta AR is longer
-Hood construction - Drop Hood on Beta AR vs Storm Hood on Alpha AR
-Pocket configuration - two hand pockets on the Beta AR vs two cross-over chest pockets on the Alpha AR. Cross-over chest pockets are more convenient when wearing a harness or pack.
-Harness Hemlocks - the Alpha AR has two removable foam inserts in the hem of the jacket. These are designed to be tucked into the belt of your harness.
Will this jacket be available also for...
Will this jacket be available also for men?
A mens version will be available and we expect it around August/September. When it is available it will be under the item number: ARC004S
Can you share any picture? I have only this one...
Blue difference between shoulders and body is quite huge. On this picture jacket looks really ugly.
Color is POSEIDON and the color contrast is quite different. The ALPHA SV comes with only the bright blue zips
You can see jacket on www.arcteryx.com. They already post new models for fall 2014.
