All drama aside, it works marvelously well.
- Outer nylon shell layer is wind- and water-resistant
- Inner polyester insulating layer breathes like fleece
- Laminated seam allowances for bulk-free seams
- Low-profile chest pockets for bulk-free storage and ventilation on your light-and-fast ascents
- Articulated elbows for natural movement

Almost in love
I ordered this jacket thinking that I would love it, and for the most part I did. I loved the cut (very trim), the color (squid ink) and most of all the material. The durability and breathability were exactly what I was looking for. What I didn't care for was the collar, it was too much like a tunic for my taste. I returned it and will keep my eyes peeled for an Acto MX Hoody on sale.
Superb for cold ACTIVities
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I also have the hoody and wasn't sure I needed this, even though I found a good deal on one. I wore it one time on a run and I'm sold on it now. Even though it's meant more for winter sports than running, it's basically for being active in the cold so it works either way. It really does seem to breathe well. I'm skeptical of such claims, but this kept me between warm and cold when worn in 39 degree weather with a light wind. It is air permeable because I could feel the slight breeze when running into it, but that helped keep me cool. The cut and fabric are so tremendous that you almost don't realize you have it on. It's like a shell that levitates slightly above your body to regulate your temperature. The collar is the perfect height and the perfect fit for your neck. By the end of the run it was drizzling slightly but that's no problem for the Acto. It's a little tech-geeky for casual wear (the similar Epsilon is better for that) but it's right on for being active in the cold.

Does anyone have any measurement on a medium or large? Front zipper length, pit to pit measurement and/or center back length?
front zipper is 27" on Med and Lge. Back measures 19.5 inches on Lge and 18.5 on Med. These are from arm seams across the shoulder.

How insulated is the Acto MX? Say in terms of 200 wt polartec? I'm looking for something similar to 200 wt, but with a bit more wind/water resistance.
From what I have been told it is more like a 100 wt fleece. The Acto is meant for aerobic pursuits with a light loft fleece backing. It is meant to have more breatheablility than insulating properties. The Epsilon series is more like a 200wt fleece and is still water resistant and wind resistant.
