Arc'teryx's next step.
The Acrux FL also features a lightweight and surprisingly durable seamless upper designed to handle rock, snow, and ice with ease. This upper features a non-woven, DWR-treated internal surface that sheds wet weather, PU-coated nylon for air permeability and abrasion-resistance, and TPU film for enhanced support and durability. The two top lace holes have integrated reinforcements to reduce stretching.
Underfoot, Arc'teryx equipped the Acrux FL with a premium injected EVA midsole designed for stability and enhanced braking. The 3D molded toe and heel caps buffer impact, offer rock protection, and resist cracking for durability. There's also an anatomical arch shank, and the custom-developed 3D molded Ortholite footbed offers maximum comfort and breathability.
Vibram's brand new MegaGrip rubber makes the Acrux's sole fine-tuned for any trail. Design features include a climbing zone with traction grooves, grippy inserts for smearing, RockGrip technology with anti-slip lugs, and a spherical heel shape for a smooth stride.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
These Shoes are great. Bought them for a close friend who was headed on a road trip to Alaska and back. She hiked, approached, and used them everyday. she said they were a little stiff at first but felt great by the third day. She also mentioned that they handled any type of terrain she could throw at them. Over all a great shoe. They did run slightly large though.
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
I was really excited when I heard Arcteryx was coming out with these shoes and ordered them as soon as Backcountry got them in. I wasn't sure what size to order. My normal size is 7.5, but I wear size 8 running shoes and sometimes boots, but can also wear a 7 in certain shoes. So I ordered these in a size 7.5. They were too big. I would've reordered them in a 7, but I didn't really like the design, so I'm not going to reorder. The shoes felt firm and supportive, had stiff soles, but I think the outer shoe is odd. It is very stiff and is made out of a plastic-feeling material. The shoe doesn't flex well, and as I walked in it, it did not bend in the natural place. The fit was better (smaller) in the Gore-Tex version, and worked for me with thicker socks, but it still had the odd, stiff feel to the upper, plus my heel slipped up and down with every step. Overall, I'm disappointed with the design.
