Description

Love at first slash.

One run on the Arbor Swoon Women's Snowboard and you'll be head over heels for it. With System rocker, a twin shape, and a medium flex, this all-mountain charger takes on big mountains like a freeride board, yet is still fully capable of spinning off natural features and riding away switch when you want it to.

System rocker uses several different design elements to provide true rocker performance while maintaining an incredible amount of edge hold and pop. It features a parabolic arc that is more rockered between the bindings and less rockered at the tip and tail to give it float in powder and a catch-free feeling on hardpack, while making turn initiation fluid and easy. The Grip Tech sidecut uses two additional contact points along each edge to allow for reliable edge hold on a rocker profile. Bamboo replaces plastic in the topsheet to not only make the Coda more environmentally-friendly, but stronger and more responsive too.

A triax-over-biax fiberglass lay-up gives it a responsive feel for greater precision and control in technical terrain. Lightweight FSC-certified poplar is used in the core for a smooth flex and lively feel, and dual strips made from fast-growing bamboo running down the center maximize pop. 360-degree full-wrap sidewalls crank up the durability, and the sintered base absorbs wax well and resists damage from rocks and stumps hidden beneath the snow.

one day use

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a 142 Gnu Bnice and yes, its a total noodle. Im looking to upgrade to a stiffer, more responsive board and have been trying the Ride Hellcat 146 which is awesome, but has two less contact points than this board. I tried this board in a 152 today and although at first I thought it was going to be too heavy, it turned out to be super fast and was extremely stable, and very responsive. Doing jumps was harder than I wanted it to be with such a heavy/stiff board, got less height/air than usual, but the plus side was that the landing was so solid. Absolutely no chatter and great float. Slayed pow. Glided over regular bumpy tracked out conditions. I dug it a lot. Worth a go for a girl looking for something stiff, stable, and all mountain-y. Wouldnt use this board for jibs or park, but probably does okay on jumps and is a hard charging board for all mountain riders.

Unanswered Question

I wear a size 10 boot. Will this board be wide enough?

Description is right on

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Everything stated in the description is right on.
Formerly, I rode the K2 Luna, which is a great beginner board. I was ready to step up my game and have never been happier.
This board is so responsive, and the reverse camber has a completely different feel that I love. The arc really does give it an amazing float, yet it still has enough stiffness (medium flex) for me to hit up features in the park. This board gives me so much confidence in any condition. Powder is this board's best friend, yet the grip tech gives me an AMAZING grip on groomers and hardpack. And yes, it really is durable. Early season I ran over a few little rocks and had your usually taps from my neighboring boards on the lift, but not a single chip. I have seen other boards chip so easy on the edge, but this board definitely has a different and much better overlay/coating. It's not only a beautiful board, but it seems like it's going to last me quite a while.
I didn't know what an amazing board felt like until I started riding the Arbor Swoon.

Thanks for your review! So helpful. I have been riding a very similar board to your old one -- the K2 Lunatique, and was looking to "upgrade" to a bit stiffer board. So you really feel like the edge control is on point? I'm an east coast rider, so sadly, powder days are few and far between. It's more often hard pack with icy patches, so something that can hold an edge really well and stay stable at higher speeds is what I'm looking for. I was also looking at the Rome Heist, but am definitely thinking of giving this board a try! Also, if you have a chance, could you tell me how you thought turn initiation was on this board compared to the K2 Luna? Did you feel like it was tougher with a stiffer board? Thanks again for the awesome review.

Love this board!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is by far the best board I've ever bought. It's lightweight and flex is awesome for any kind of riding. While the functionality of the board is great you can't discount the amazing design. Such a fresh look and a nice change for those who don't want anything crazy!
