A-Frame Snowboard

The Arbor A-Frame Snowboard doesn’t pussyfoot around. This big-mountain gun arcs into turns, threads the needle through trees, and stays stable at high speeds. Whether you have a Jackson season pass or just ride your home mountain like you do, this stiff, directional snowboard won’t let you down.

  • Tri-radial sidecut for tight, quick turns and high-speed stability
  • Carbon struts from inserts to contact points increase torsional flex at the tip/tail for better edge feel
  • Hi-Load Glassing provides a stiff flex for quick turn initiation, tracking in mixed conditions, and high speed control
  • Rocket sintered base for durability, speed, and wax absorption
  • ABS and urethane sidewalls for durability and edge hold
  • Shaman core is Arbor’s lightest
  • Artist Cody Gewertz designed the graphics on the structural wood topsheet

Bottom Line: The mountain will cower.

I just started riding last year and need to buy a new board. I mostly mountain ride, but venture into the park every once and a while as well. Do you think this board would be a good fit?

It'll be great on the slopes, but won't perform well in the park.

Picked up the 166. Mainly for big mountain riding..
Loved the way it felt in bounds at my local area. Flex pattern is so smooth - it rides like a Lincoln Continental..

The comments on the lift line were pretty crazy... People love the way this deck looks. I tell them it rides as good as it looks..

If you went 162 or longer, its marginally doable. I would want some Burton boots with the Shrinkage tech or some F series Salomons to try to minimize the toe/heel overhang. I wear an 11.5 and wouldn't go narrower than a 254 waist width (without some footprint reducing boots to go along with it) especially if I am focusing on powder and bigger mountain stuff. The Abacus is Arbor's wide board for Big Mountain, and the Roundhouse is their wide all-mountain but could be pretty slow edge to edge because it is WIDE. Hope that helps!

This board is pretty narrow at the waist for a size 12 coming in at 248mm. Maybe check out the Nitro Blacklight. It is quick edge to edge with an extremely fast base. It's waist width is at least 256mm depending on length and can comfortably accommodate bigger foot while getting the performance equal to or greater then an A-Frame. Hope this helps.

Whats a good set of all mountain/freeride bindings to go with

Whats a good set of all mountain/freeride bindings to go with the A-frame? Haven't bought bindings in years and need some ideas.

I'm riding with Flow bindings on both my boards. Takes a few days to get them dialed in, but they're super-fast on and off, which is great for hiking. Not good for heliboarding, because they take up more vertical space in the basket, but how much heliboarding do you do in a year?

Comfortable, responsive, fast.

Yeah, Union Force bindings would be a good place to start. Or Burton Cartels if you are riding Burton boots. Those are both solid no-nonsense choices. You can spend more, and go stiffer if you want, but you cannot go wrong with a pair of Forces. Or Cartels, I think, but some people vehemently hate Burton these days...

union makes the strongest, built to last, stiff bindings. I have this board in a 162cm; love it. I'm a surfer-no park riding, lots of trees, cliffs, and groom cruising when there's no powder

You probably need to look to the Arbor Coda. Wake is right, the sizing for the A-Frame is set up for big mountain freeriders. The Coda is more all mountain and there is a 155 that might be right for you. Too bad the clean graphics/ woodwork are only on the A-frame.

No, this is a long, powder hungry big mountain board. 158 is the smallest it comes in.
