Your legs won't train themselves.
Train for your next big event with the Altra Women's Paradigm 1.5 Running Shoe. Its Natural Ride System and Zero Drop platforms promote a natural yet speedy stride while the women-specific last ensures all-day comfort on the concrete. Air mesh keeps the upper breathable for warmer weather, and the Contour footbed offers considerable cush, while the dual-layer EVA midsole works with the A-Bound top to return energy to your kick with each step. Altra also added a FootPod sole that uses strategically-placed rubber pads for all-purpose traction.

So, I've only run in these a handful of times since having picked them up last week. However, I'm already thoroughly impressed. I know they look like "Reeboks with the straps" with their super-duper cush midsole, but oh man - my LKT are so dang happy so who cares what they look like.
For starters, these running shoes are so, so dang light. And despite their lightness, these running shoes seem to be pretty hardy too. The lightweight upper encourages ample breathability, which makes them (for me) ideal for longer runs. The midsole is responsive without taking the reins, so to speak. I bought these specifically for their rockered shape as I'm trying to train myself to have a more sustainable and stronger stride. My first impressions are that these sneakers will help with just that. The zero drop is something to get used to initially, but thus far I'm loving it. In order for my legs to get used to the zero drop, I'm slowly ticking up the mileage. All in all, I'm really impressed with the performance of these sneakers.
As for the fit, I was warned by a friend that Altras typically have a wider toebox however the Paradigms seems to have a pretty standard toe box. From time to time I size up to a 9, but as of late have been sticking with an 8.5 as to avoid hot spots and blisters I've frequently experienced with sizing up. So I stuck with an 8.5 in the Paradigm and was quite pleased however I might size down to an 8 in other Altras depending on the shape.
I'm really, really stoked on these sneakers and am really looking forward to seeing how they perform in the future!
