The thing about tracks, treadmills, and sidewalks is, well, they're boring, which is why you run trails that most folks would use a clunky pair of boots to get through. But as you well know, running in the kind of conditions you love is not a task for any ordinary running shoe—it requires a shoe with the grit and determination of the Altra Women's Lone Peak Polartec NeoShell Trail Running Shoe. As you might have guessed from the name, the Lone Peaks feature a Polartec NeoShell lining that repels moisture and maximizes breathability, leaving your feet free of moisture from the inside and out.
The Lone Peak wouldn't be an Altra if it didn't have a Zero Drop platform, but with a stack height of 25mm, the shoes still have plenty of cushioning to keep your feet going on those longer runs. The footbed is specifically designed for rugged mountain trails, while integrated rock protection defends your feet from pointy rocks and downed logs. Altra's TrailClaw sole makes short work of washed-out trails full of loose dirt and rock, and the FootShape toe box work to keep your feet in a comfortable and natural position every step of the way.
