    Lightweight. Stable. Natural.

The Altra Men's Impulse Running Shoe delivers a lightweight and stable feel that will help you unleash your natural running instincts. Altra's lightest stability shoe, the Impulse features a Zero Drop platform that encourages a more natural, low-impact strike, resulting in properly-aligned body posture and strengthened lower leg muscles. Unlike the narrow toe boxes of most running shoes, the Footshape toe box allows room for your toes to spread out, simultaneously improving comfort and balance.

The friction-free, lightweight, and breathable upper prevents hot spots and keeps you comfy on long distance runs. A responsive EVA and A-Bound blend midsole cushions your every step while providing the rebound you need to propel you into your next stride. Varus Stability Wedge Technology provides flexible stability to prevent early and late-stage foot collapse, and Stabilipod technology acts as a stabilizing tripod to prevent over-pronation. It's finished off with a lightweight FootPod outsole that maps the tendons and bones of your foot to provide a natural, easy flex that won't force your foot to move in uncomfortable ways.

    fast and light.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This shoe is awesome because not only is it the lightest running shoe Altra makes but feels very stable on the feet. I have not had them long but they seem to be holding up very nicely. getting another pair!

Wouldn't expect anything less from Altra

I have run Altra shoes before and I have to say they are my favorite shoes to run in. I have a slightly wide foot which are more than adequate to handle. The wide toe box is something I have grown to love though it may not be for all. These are a great shoe for someone looking for something with a little more cushion.

    Love them, not super durable

I got these shoes because I have very wide feet, and I had then recommended to me for their zero drop. They fit very well, super comfortable. I would say these are the best shoes ever, but there's one little hitch: they wore out too fast. I put about 250 miles on them and the part of the shoe where the fabric meets the rubber started to wear. Another week went by and on both shoes the fabric tore! I was really hoping these shoes would last at least another hundred or so miles, but no way hosé. I would (and have) recommended these shoes, they are definitely worth experiencing. For high mileage runners however, be aware they aren't going to last very long.
