How does it compare to the Crazy Creek...
How does it compare to the Crazy Creek Original Chair? $48 versus $17 is quite a big difference. Is it worth it to spend more on a Crazy Creek?
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I love this seat, I always keep it in the trunk of my car so it is readily available for any spur of the moment outdoor activity. Don't let its simplicity fool you, this seat is surprisingly comfortable! I see these pop up on Steep & Cheap fairly frequently for less than $20.
While it may be too heavy for some people, I think this is the perfect seat to bring backpacking. Being able to relax in a cushioned seat, as opposed to a hard uneven stump, after a long day of hiking is worth the extra weight in my opinion. I used to use my sleeping pad as a chair, but I was always very afraid of it getting damaged due to abrasion; using this seat eliminates those concerns as its fabric will only fray at worst.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought these to use as seat backs on my Old Town Guide Canoe. They have 2 straps with buckles on bottom that allows easy attachment and removal to the seats (as opposed to the plastic seatbacks the canoe comes with). They feel even more sturdy when using them on the ground. I may have to start using them at concerts or picnics at the park as well. The mesh pocket on the back is also convenient to put a book, bug spray or sun screen into.
This guy is comfy!
this is the ultimate backpacking chair! If you've ever been somewhere you wished you had a relaxing seat handy this is the solution.when you sit in it and lean back you'll understand... it's also adjustable.
Good seat, low price
Like others have mentioned, I was a little taken aback by the actual size and weight of these things but for me it hasn't been an issue as it's just something we pack in our car to take to outdoor concerts and things like that. I was shocked at how comfortable they actually are! The bigger size means a wider fit for a bigger toush!
Excellent, but a little bit bulkier than I thought it would be-still not a problem as its strapped to the outside of my back.
What is the weight of this guy? I'm looking...
What is the weight of this guy? I'm looking at the Crazy Creek and I need some specs for comparison seeing as how this one is super duper cheap! Thanks.
Nice little seat!

I have been wanting one of these seats for a while and the price was right so I got one. Right now I use it in my living room when I play X-Box, but will take it camping the next time I go.It is pretty comfortable but does kind of squeeze you together.
- When you lean back to sit it forces the support straps on the side to squish your legs together.
- You have sit with your butt a couple inches away from the back so you can recline a little without tipping over backwards.
I would recommend this seat to someone who is looking for a camp chair to sit in for a little while and not the whole night around the camp fire. Get a bigger chair if you are planning on spending a lot of time sitting.
Awesome camp chair - keep it handy!
We started with two of these but had to order one for everybody in the family to end the arguments over who got to use them. These seats are SO MUCH better than your average collapsable tubes & nylon fold up chairs: very compact (we keep ours in the car all summer long), lightweight, and easy for one of the kids to carry seats for the whole family.
We've used them at the drive-in movie, watching fireworks, and of course around the campfire...
The down-at-ground-level design is nice for keeping you below the smoke even when the wind blows your way and keeps them very stable on uneven ground that could give the other style camp chairs stability issues.
Probably wouldn't put it in my pack on a backpacking trip strictly because I tend to pack too much stuff anyway, but this chair is a shoo-in for any car camping, stadium sitting, or other outdoor activity.
I have two of these. They're perfect for concerts and around the fire pit. Well made.
These little things are great. I love 'em. They store nice and small, and they are simple and super. I would recomment these for anyone. Camping, concerts, everything...I live in a tiny place, so I have no room for the luxuries of things like chairs, couches, etc. This is great. Fits my need perfectly. Get one. You'll use it a lot.
