ALPS Mountaineering Navajo Sleeping Bag: 20F Degree Down - 2008 BCS

This is my first down bag after owning several synthetics. Most of the camping I've done with it has been in the 30-40 degree range throughout Alaska and it's kept me warm every time. The only con is that it is quite tapered at the feet, but as long as you don't move around when you sleep you should be fine. Because it is so warm, I'll be using this bag in colder temps and sticking to the synthetics in the higher temps.

For the reasonable price it's a very nice bag, light, packs small, and fairly warm. I have doubts about the 20F rating but I took it quite high in Colorado in late May, and I was very warm even with the hail/snow outside. A inner liner definitely helps.

This bag is a great product. Its super lightweight, highly compressible, and lives up to the degree rating. i took it backpacking a few weekends ago on a cold, windy night here in colorado and i stayed warm the whole time. its sweet to have a bag that takes up hardly any space in my pack.

If you are on a budget (and who is not on a budget nowadays?) this is a decent bag. It's fairly warm, although 20 degrees may be slightly optimistic. It does have an internal chest baffle. It comes with a compression sack, and packs down to about 8 X 12 inches. If you are 6 feet or taller, I would definitely get the long.

This is my first down bag after years of packing a huge zero degree synthetic bag. I'm saving several pounds and lots of room in my pack but I was worried about getting cold. A cold snap in the Canyonlands had me unexpectedly testing this at 18 degree temps. I was wearing my long undies, fleece, and beanie and using a downmat, but I stayed warm enough all night and slept fine.

I just bought this bag and have only used it in moderate weather thus far, so I can't testify to the degree rating. As for the design and quality of the bag, it packs down small, is lightweight as promised and works great. I can't wait to take it backpacking this summer!

Got this off steepandcheap not long ago. Stayed warm and slept well in 20-30 degree weather wearing long underwear and a fleece top. Probably didn't need the fleece. Good down bag at a great price.

The bag was light wieght which was fantastic for packing in but If I can I will return it for a warmer bag. I seriously doubt this bag is really 20* I had to use a flannel liner to stay warm. Although for the $ it might be worth it for someone that only camps/backpacks a few times a year.
