These shorts are built really well. The material is strong, while the front ventilation does enough to keep your legs from overheating even in hot climates. The fit was not super baggy and go just below my knee. The pockets seem to be just the perfect size to carry a cell phone, food, and/or a multi tool. The only issues I had with these shorts is that I found the tags on the liner super annoying the first ride, but by cutting them off it has been all good. Also, of the three pairs of these shorts I have, I received 2 pairs with the mesh inside one leg to be sewn incorrectly for some reason. I was able to get them swapped out. Regardless of the issue, I couldn't be happier with these shorts - highly recommend.
These shorts perform!

Bought two pairs of these to date and will probably buy another pair. The front thigh venting really works. The shorts move with you, not against you. Only wish the front pockets were a little deeper, but not a deal breaker by any means. Buy these shorts, you won't be disappointed!

Really like these shorts, but the chamois are AWFUL! No elastic to keep them from riding up your leg and bunching up in your crotch. At 6' tall with a 33" inseam the 34 comes to the middle of my knee and the 36 comes down to the bottom of my knee. Not the best for the hottest days here in the SW, but will be great for 10 months of the year!!

as others have mentioned, they do run a bit small in the waist area. Order an inch or two larger to save yourself the fitment issues, even if it does mean going up a size. you will thank yourself later. awesome overall construction and comfort beyond the sizing.

Wear these shorts with downhill riding and xc, found that the fit is nice and the ventilation is a good upgrade over my last shorts. Good durable material and a good fit. Side pockets easily fit my gloves for commuting through town to the trails. Overall I like them a lot and would recommend!
Nice product!

I'm enjoying these shorts. The sizing is a bit weird though. I ordered a 36, which I normally wear. The shorts w/o the padded short insert were a bit snug in the bum. I can only imagine how snug they'd be with them installed! I returned them, went with 38's. The fit much better, but now a bit large in the waist. Other than that, very nice product!

I loved this short! Until the waist snap began to pull out of the fabric after three rides. The ventilation panels, pockets, chamois, fabric and attention to detail are great. The velcro fly wasn't my favorite but was passable considering the high points. Failing stress points are unacceptable.
Very nice shorts

Very nice shorts. Sizing note: I usually wear a 36, so that's that I bought. The waist fit well, as did the length, however they were a bit snug in the butt before I even put the padded shorts in. I did return them and went with the 38's. I'm able to cinch them up enough and have enough booty room as well. =)

Inseam?
Is it possible to consistently have the inseam measurement for all shorts? It's the only way to really compare their lengths.
Great shorts

Awesome shorts. They hang a little below the knees, but I like longer shorts so that's good for me. Even with the long length they never restrict my movement because they stretch with you. Comfortable shorts, good looks and seem to be pretty durable ass well. The chamois is decent as well and is easily removable. My favorite shorts.

Overall good short. Fit is true to size material of short provides good protection, perhaps a bit heavy for long xc rides. The inside padded short is mostly worthless, partially due to the short length, this provides a good possibility for chaffing. Invest in a good pair or pearls for underneath. Major qualm is the low quality Velcro zipper, and one weak button at the waist. I'm a skinny guy and they don't stay buttoned during on off seat transitions on the bike. For the price their a good buy, they might take slight personal modifications for long lasting quality.

Great shorts and build quality. The length is perfect at that holy grail of just beyond the knees. Lots of fit adjustment, and the waist fits true to size. The mesh pockets are a just a tad too shallow, and that's my only negative. Definitely recommend, and I own two pairs!

These are tough shorts...I was a bit leary at first, but totally sold after the first ride. Good stretch, decent liner and pockets galore.
Highly recommended!
Good quality, but poor fit

Great quality, longer than I expected. Problem was the overall fit which rode so low on my hips that I was seriously worried about plumber's butt.

Another great Alpinestars shorts. These are about 1 inch longer than desirable but it is still a cool and comfortable shorts. The material are comfortable, durable, I feel safe on them, many pockets. Two front short pockets and 2 larger pockets are more then enough. The shorts come with a mesh material in the inside and a liner for better protection. The colors on the shorts are pretty cool. I would recommend buying this shorts.
