    taste great

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This meal tasted great, a bit spicy, but not too much. It is probably better to let it sit for a few more minutes than what is said on the package to make sure everything is rehydrated properly. The measure/ruler on the side of the package is very helpful if you don't have any other way to measure the water. The only down point was that it is not extremely filling if you share it. So it might be better to plan it for one person.

    Burrito fixin's

Disclaimer: all my food reviews will be after I've been out in the middle of nowhere for a few days, mostly eating bars, so anything hot is going to be the best meal of my life.
I added this to some tortillas to make a nice burrito when I was camping. I'd recommend letting it sit with hot water for an extra 5 minutes at least to make sure everything gets cooked.

As far as freeze dried meals are concerned, this one was the only tasty one I had on my trip. I would buy this one again. The beans and rice were soft, but not mushy and the herbs and spices mixed well to make a nice flavor. It has a little kick to it which was nice but not overpowering for the next day, if you know what I mean. I did let the water sit in the meal for longer than the recommended time on the package, which seemed to be necessary for all the meals to make them have the right consistency and flavor.
