Yes, this stuff tastes good. Best freeze dried dish I've had. It's super fast and easy to make. For those of you who are picky eaters, this is for you!

Great Price

Just used tried these over the weekend after reading the reviews here. Inexpensive and a great way to add flavor to a camping meal. You had better enjoy garlic if you are going to try these. Also remember that the mashed potatoes are not a meal by themselves, but for less than 4 bucks you can't go wrong.

tasty but no cals

When I'm backpacking, I'm usually starving and burning through 5-6,000 calories a day. For the weight of the packaging and the food, I usually can't afford to carry something this heavy that only yields 50 calories. Thats like the equivalent of a film container worth of nuts. But, they are very tasty and do well to "fill" one up.

Very tasty

These potatoes were very good. Perfect side for just about any backcountry meal. Definitely much better than Backpackers Pantry Bacon and Cheese mashers.

Great B-Fast

I really like these potatoes as an alternative to oatmeal on occasion. They make a great b-fast or lunch.

what is the shelf life?

Best Answer Responded on

Alpine Aire claims a 5-10 year shelf life on most of their meals stored under ideal conditions, but just to be safe, I'd eat most freeze dried meals within five years. I've actually eaten a few meals that were seven years old without any problem & they tasted as good as new ones.http://www.alpineaire.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=3&chapter=0&zenid=8a4f274ff7160beb33a6a488a68de9c3

Tastes Good & Filling

Nice addition to any small one person meal buy adding an extra portion & carbohydrates. Break the package into two servings to stretch out meals. Inexpensive & great flavor.
