Almost didn't try it after the apple blueberry fiasco. I would buy this again if I HAD to have something sweet in my pack but generally wouldn't add the additional weight

I was very surprised at how tasty this is. It's pretty messy to eat, but tasted awesome. There are separate packs (included) of oreo crumbs and nuts to add to the top of what basically looks like chocolate pudding.

No packaged, pasty taste here! Real chocolate flavor, great texture with added cookie crumbs and peanut brittle chips, and a big argument about who would lick the package when our spoons couldn't help us any more! Absolutely hit the spot on the AT in Shenandoah NP. We prepared it cold, but considered using hot water since we had 8 inches of snow on the ground. Never took dessert in a package like this before because of skepticism and indifference. Will always have this Alpine Aire dessert for future backpacking trips! Broke the monotony of M&Ms vs. Snickers.

This stuff is fantastic. I really think using cold water is the way to go to get the consistency right. Cold water yields a light fluffy pudding feel. Try to avoid using room temp. water. It turned out quite runny with lumps. At least it has a killer flavor. Highly recommended.

Okay, so we didn't follow the instructions exactly. We were freezing cold and wanted to get it over with, plus we wanted a warm desert instead of cold. The instructions say to do it cold but we could handle that. We added boiling water to the bag and mixed everything in. The texture was like thick pudding and the taste was really, really good! We'll try it using the instructions next time but either way it's gonna taste really good.
