Wear the AKU Women's Suiterra Leather GTX Hiking Boots for rugged day hikes. These AKU boots feature Gore-Tex linings that let your feet breathe yet prevent any water from getting in, so you can tromp through snow, water, and mud. The Suiterra's full-grain leather uppers last for years, even with hard use. Rubber toe bumpers protect both your piggies and the leather, and Vibram outsoles give you traction on varied terrain.

Bottom Line: These burly boots love to climb mountains and traverse canyons.

I have a short, wide foot. Haven't tried any AKU boots before. Does anyone know whether these are comfortable for a wide foot with a high arch? I do mainly day hikes, often steep and through streams, with a baby in a front carrier. Looking for something light, dry, and with good traction and ankle support. Thanks!

I just ordered these boots and I can definetly say that they're made for folks with a narrower foot. My feet are on the narrow side and they fit well with a little toe room.

For anyone else looking at these boots, I'd say the best thing they have goin for them is ankle support, waterproof-ness, and durability. The ankle support is fantastic, they're 100% waterproof and a full grain leather boot will last for years. The only thing im a bit worried about is breathability but I plan to use them for this upcoming summer field season so hopefully i can update!

Although I do not own these boots, I can pretty confidently say, no. The boots are intended for day hiking, and although they appear to be high-end hiking boots, I think they lack the support that such an extended trip would demand. I would suggest looking in the Backpacking Boots category. The trade of here is weight and support. Hiking boots are much lighter, but have much less support, so will not hold up or support your feet and ankles well when carrying a big load for extended trips. It looks like the La Sportiva Trango Trek GTX might be a good choice for that purpose.
