Reyes Technical Sandal - Men's

Sometimes technical sandals just get that funky smell, and no matter what you do—wash them, put them in the freezer, douse them with foot powder, or cast an anti-funk magic spell over them—the smell won’t go away. Ahnu made its Men's Reyes Technical Sandal with an anti-odor lining to help you out. The recycled polyester lining has charred bamboo embedded into it; this lining wicks sweat and soaks up odors. Ahnu also gave the closed-toe Reyes arch support, cushy EVA midsoles, and rugged lugged outsoles so you can hike comfortably and keep your footing on wet rocks and steep trails.

Bottom Line: Sandals that won’t grow so much bacteria on them that they come to life and walk on their own.

Life Saver!!! Literally

My cousin has had these sandals for about 3 years and other than the sole wearing through he says they are his favorite and just bought another pair. He refuses to wear hiking boots and wears these on mountain hikes, river crossings, trail runs....everything. These were put to the ultimate test when we were forced to hike out of a canyon in the dark. He hiked 18 miles in these with no trail, crossing the river dozens of times and never slipping. The sole wore through quickly because of how soft and grippy the tread is. The buckle system on the new version is awesome! A little pricey at full price but if you can get a deal then go for it!

Comfortable, but durability an issue

I've had a pair of these for about 2 years. Never had any complaints as far as comfort--I've walked miles and miles in these and my feet felt fine-thanks to the arch support. Watch out for sand and pebbles, though (and pine needles). They can get trapped pretty easily and then you have to shake it out.

My complaint is simply that after 16 months or so, the sole showed significant wear and now there is pretty much nothing left on the sole. I've had sandals that lasted 4-5 years before significant wear started showing. But very comfortable for end-of-the-day wear and in the canoe/kayak as it dries pretty quick.

Has potential, fit adjustment needs work.

I had high hopes for these sandals when ordering it, but was rather disappointed upon receiving them. While the footbed seems very comfortable and the grip seems pretty good, I felt the single strap setup left much to be desired, as far as the ability to snug the sandal down.

I have a medium volume foot and found that even cinched down to the max that these sandals felt too loose and sloppy for my liking for a technical sandal, with too much play in the webbing over the arch of the foot. I certainly wouldn't have confidence in these sandals for hiking or any boating related activity, at least for sure footing.

The fit was sloppy enough that I wouldn't even enjoy wearing these for casual use. Perhaps sizing down a half-size over my norm would work, but I didn't feel like wasting more money in shipping to try. I'll stick with my Keen Venice H2's instead.
